My mom is making it so we are having a much bigger wedding than we would have liked, she refuses to cut anyone. She is paying for half, but her list has over 80 people!!

My mother and grandma have been EXTREMELY opinionated when it comes to planning our wedding.... its been really difficult for me to deal with because there are things I really want for my wedding and i feel like i am going against her if i do them... It has really driven me to the point where I may have to do things with out telling them and hope when the day comes, they will be so happy they will ignore the little things and still be happy.... We will see....

luckily everyone's been pretty great!!!
there are a few things, not necessarily demands, but things I'd know would upset my mom if I didn't do, but nothing that I'd be against doing anyway...
the big non-negotiable item was getting married in my church, but after meeting with the deacon, i realized that i couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else!

the only person with an opinion on how things should be done is my mom....but usually I agree with everything she says so its ok,..things she wasn't in 100% agreement with me on she just tried to bite her tongue and let me do my thing...
she does has a lot of people on the guest list tho and FH doesn't entirely agree with this since he didn't even ask his parents if they wanted to invite anyone...but if it comes down to cost mom will def give money for it.

Is there someone or a group of people who have pressured you to do something either due to tradition or their own wants for your wedding that you never wanted to do? And are you going to do it?
Luckily a lot of the requests that people have made were things I was doing anyway so it hasn't really bothered me.
There have been little things...like FMIL kept asking us when were were going to register and when we were going to book the rehearsal since Dec. 2009 (we got engaged in Nov. 2009 and the wedding is Nov. 2011!), and honestly I did those those things as early as I did in reaction to her nudging (I wasn't planning on registering until around now but we did it in August). But on the other hand, I really can't complain because the reasons she wanted those things done was so she could book the RD which the FILs are graciously paying for, and also because a lot of FH's family were asking about our registries because they want to send us gifts or in the words of FH's awesome aunt 'I'm on a fixed income now you know....which means if I start now and buy a gift a month, I'll have more time to amass the goods.'

No, its been pretty smooth sailing so far; the only thing I don't want which is gonna happen is having kids at our wedding, fh wants them, his mom does too. My side doesn't think a wedding is the place for kids, not that I don't love kids I just don't want them at my wedding! But we had to compromise on somethings and I let him get his way with this.

mommy dearest has this whole thing about my sister being different from the other two because she is the MOH. I don't care if they are all different all the same or if she stands out. I want them to get what they want. I gave the girls 11 dresses to choose from any one they wanted and she wants to tell my sister she cant have the one she wants if one of the other girls gets it...oh and the bo-ks 'well what are you going to have for you sister since she is the MOH' ![]()
