Money is AWKWARD!
we are paying for it ourselves. my dad helped with my dress. we are saving and trying to avoid credit cards as long as we can. sometimes it feels like we arent making it as fast as we are spending it.

We are lucky enough that my mom insists on paying for 95% of the wedding expenses (I'm paying for things like hair/makeup, BP gifts, flower girl dress, etc.) because we have a mortgage and FH recently took a huge paycut. However, knowing that my mom is paying has made me want to spend way less than if I was paying for it myself. So, I understand being on a budget and trying to keep costs low.
I refuse to take out a loan for the wedding. We are paying most of it on our own with some help from my parents annd his mom and dad is contributing what they can..Fh is not that great at saving and currently I make more money than him. So he is givining me money from his pay check each week to save for the wedding.. We will be opening a joint account soon and putting our engagement party money in there and other money to pay for the wedding. It is very stressful!
My FH and I are paying for the wedding on our own as well. We are having a small intimate wedding with 125 people max so it's not incredibly expensive but it's all starting to add up. We are still just out of the starting gate (only booked our RH) so we haven't felt the burn of being broke as yet. Since our wedding is next Oct. I'm hoping we can have it all paid by this time next year. Either way, it's worth the sacrifice. This is my first and last wedding so it has to be done right.
