Money RE: Bridesmaid

Hi Ladies -

What are you guys doing for your BM? I cant decide whether to pay for their dress or get them gifts, so confusing!
I almost want to ask them which they would prefer. Im not sure how much I would spend on gifts in total and havent picked BM yet so not even sure how much they would cost?

Just curious to hear what you guys are doing
THANKS!!!

I am doing gifts. What yet exactly? I don't know. I am going to try to find a dress under $200 so it isnt too much of an expense for them. Maybe you could pay for their hair or makeup? I've thought of that too

Money RE: Bridesmaid

FH and I decided to do a small wedding party so we have two on each side (may become 3 soon). My parents have offered to pay for the girls' dresses since being a bridesmaid is expensive and my FSIL had paid for my dress when I was her bridesmaid. I may still get them a small gift because they're family members but they will most likely be on their own for hair and makeup.

Money RE: Bridesmaid

I'll be buying them jewelry and a clutch that has some day of essentials inside. I too, am looking for dresses under 200..I've been in a few bridal parties and paid for my own hair and makeup.
I'd prefer they all have really nice, matching jewelry!

Money RE: Bridesmaid

I'm looking for dresses under $200 as well. I plan on getting them their DOJ and then paying for their hair OR makeup (I'll let them choose). I'm not going to force them to have both done.. but I know some of my BM would rather do their own make up rather than fight with their hair... or vice versa lol.

I'm also trying to find dresses under $200. As for their gift I'm considering getting them blue converse. Fh wants to wear converse which I'm fine with. But I told him if he does all the guys have to so I think I want the girls to wear them also. But I don't wanna make them buy them.

I plan on buying them gifts.
As for BM dresses, I'm also on the hunt for dresses under $200.
A few of my BMs will probably want to do their own makeup or hair and that's fine by me!

Money RE: Bridesmaid

I found my dresses at the Macy's Bridal Salon in Lake Grove for under $200. They are stunning. They're long soft satin (so they're soft and flowy like a chiffon but have the elegant look of satin) and with tax they came to $170. I am obsessed with them, I want one of my own LOL. I plan on getting my girls DOJ, something simple, to give them at the rehearsal dinner, and maybe personalized tumblers, totes, and tshirts. I also want to get them a frame (think etsy yourpicturestory or photoframeoriginals) but I want to give that later so I can put a picture from the wedding in the frame.

I can't post about the gift either, for the same reason!

But in all honestly, I have no idea what I plan on doing. I can't pay for the girls dresses, since they most likely will be different prices since I'm doing mismatched bm dresses. I do know that I want to do something different!

Money RE: Bridesmaid

I would like to buy them some gifts. I was thinking jewelry that way they can always remember the day. I would like them to get bridesmaid dresses that they are able to wear again, that way the money doesn't go to waste. I know its hard, but I think it is a good idea.

Money RE: Bridesmaid

I'm thinking of buying them something monogrammed, possibly rings. I'm also probably going to pay for their hair and/or makeup. I don't want them to have too much financial pressure for my wedding, but I also want to give them something that they will have to keep after the wedding.

I've found a lot of dresses that I like within the $120-$200 range. I don't think I need to look at dresses more expensive than that. 3 of my bridesmaids are OOT, so they're already paying for travel expenses.

Money RE: Bridesmaid

I'm going to get BMs gifts. Tshirts, matching nail polish, tumblers, etc. they will pay for their dresses because they know its part of the BM deal. I'm not having them get their makeup professionaly done but I may request they get there hair done at the house. I was thinking of paying for half but everyone keeps telling me not to because that's what the gift is for, to thank them for being a part of your day. I'm not convinced yet though!
