Re: Moneybag or 'Moneybox'?

I plan on doing what yabbobay did. Wrapping a box to look like a present. I know if I had a money bag I would never have it on me so I think this will work out the best for us.

Re: Moneybag or 'Moneybox'?

I got the idea of a moneybox/birdcage thing from my best friend when she got married. She found in a craft store a cardboard castle (that was made for envelopes) that needed to be put together and her BIL painted. I am using my fiance's grandfather's mailbox. We wanted something of his at our wedding. He used to have his own metal shop and made his own mailbox. So my aunt is going to decorate it with flowers, tulle, etc. and we are going to have it sitting on our table so that everyone sees it and knows what it is and what it is for.

Re: Moneybag or 'Moneybox'?

I'm not sure what I am using yet. I went to a wedding in NJ where the bride had a money box placed on a table pretty much out of view. Some envelopes were claimed to be 'missing' from the box after the wedding. She blamed the staff at the hall for the missing envelopes. (I don't know the whole story). I still like the money box idea and my suggestion would be that if you do use a money box, just keep it someplace in sight to be safe!

Re: Moneybag or 'Moneybox'?

I'm doing a box (I think). I just don't like walking around with a bag. I saw the birdcages in a favor store, and personally I didn't like it. I'd rather have a closed solid box of some sort.

Re: Moneybag or 'Moneybox'?

Our wedding is 12/15/02 and instead of a birdcage, I fould a silver color cage, with a big silver bow on top at Mikasa last year right after Christmas. It was 12.00, about the same size as the birdcages but more wintery looking so we are using that.
