Montauk/Hampton Wedding Locations

Hello,

I recently got engaged and am not interested in having the ceremony/reception at a banquet hall or a 'wedidng factory'. I was thinking about having it in Montauk at a light house/winery. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any great places? I def. want to have the ceremony outside and the reception to take place in a tent.

Re: Montauk/Hampton Wedding Locations

hello, and welcome to LI weddings.... this is such a great place to get ideas and just talk. I love this website. I was in the same place as you were. I live in SHampton and i didn't want to get married at a 'wedding factory' and i wanted a wedding under a tent..... a few months later i found out that i cost so much more money and so much more work. I looked at some places, i finally decided to have the reception at the Moose lodge... i know, when someone suggested it to me i said NO way am i going to check out the moose lodge, but let me tell you, the room is huge, it is overlooking the river and a marina the people are so accomodating, and it is very inexpensive... you really should check it out. They pretty much have all dates open. Since it is a non profit oganization they can not advertise, and 1/3 of the money goes to charity!! that was the best part. all i am saying is that you should check it out.
good luck

I had my wedding at the Southampton Inn - not outside, so if you consider having it inside, FM me.

Re: Montauk/Hampton Wedding Locations

I got married at Wolffer! It was beautiful! We were married between the vines at a gazebo on the grounds. They do not allow tents; however, the tables are on the patio which is covered by glass overhead, so any inclement weather is not really an issue. Even if it's raining, the ceremony takes place inside the beautiful tasting room.

I got married at Atlantica, in Westhampton Beach. They perform outdoor ceremonies & have a Ballroom & a tent for Cocktail Hour.

Re: Montauk/Hampton Wedding Locations

I would love to post my pictures...just have to figure out how to use my damn scanner!!! I'm so un-technologically advanced. The pics came out great: the vines were full and green, the sun was shining, the sky was blue!

Try contacting the Montauk Manor.

www.montaukmanor.com

It is a beautiful old Mansion/Hotel. Their grounds are beautiful.

I got engaged there.

Re: Montauk/Hampton Wedding Locations

I was also going to suggest the Montauk Manor or Montauk Downs. I love weddings at the Downs but I don't know if they put a tent up. I too looked into tents and they are very expensive. There is a Barn in Sagaponack that I know people have had weddings in. Jill Gordon is an event planner out here and could probably give you tons of ideas.

The lobby area in the montauk manor is beautiful..where do they have events? I think that the lobby would be a beautiful location for a cocktail hour.

I know Gurney's Inn in Montauk has weddings. I think it may be a tad on the expensive side though - although on the beach (so nice!)

They put up a tent on the grounds. It's one of the most beautiful spots in Montauk.

Re: Montauk/Hampton Wedding Locations

The Crow's Nest does tented weddings and they're a vendor on this site.
And just and FYI, 'wedding factory' is kind of a frowned upon phrase. It could be insulting to some people.
