same here..met her when i was still in preschool ...we went to the Cabbage Patch store in manhattan and she was there signing autographs- it was the highlight of my life!

I posted in another thread that the only time she ever said Heidi was once when I was on the show. It was bad enough that for years I could never find a key chain with my name on it, but to feel left out of Romper Room too!!

Hold the phone!!!! You were ON ROMPER ROOM? That was my chidhood dream. I even had romper stompers that I practiced with every day.

I can also vouch for the fact that Miss Maryanne (my age range) never said Donna!

I always waited to hear my name- I remember asking my mom why they never said my name . . .

And when I had this discussion with DH I got sooooooooo jealous...

He was ON Romper Room!!!!!!!!

And to add to my childhood misery, when it came to little trinkets with your name on it (keychains, etc), there was never any Felicia ones unless you had to special order it

I have the same problem with my name....especially considering the unusual spelling of it

you know what's so funny...if that show was on today, we'd hear names like Shaquita, Shaneefa, Makeeba, Jonquil....etc...

How did one get to be on Romper Room.

I think I may have heard Cindy once.

I feel your pain! 'Doreen' is nowhere to be found.

Not once did I hear 'Kim.' I would be crushed and then think 'what's WRONG with her that she can't SEE me?'
