We met at a Red Cross blood drive the first time. He got woozy and I gave him my cookie and orange juice. He says he tried to get my number but was sort of out of it and I remember thinking what a cool guy (despite the wimpy almost faint) Thought about him occasionally (and he told me he did too) but no idea who until several years later we were set up by friends and recognized each other. Fate.

It depends on which one of us you ask. Either way we met through friends, but I remember meeting him for the first time at a bar in Bay Ridge. He doesn't remember meeting me until his friend brought me to his house for his birthday when I had a huge fight with this guy I was dating

We met at Hutley's, a bar in Islip. We talked all night and at the end he kissed my hand and said, 'You are the cutest girl in America.' He was so wasted but it was so cute He had no pen so I was sure he would never remember my number, but he called the next morning at 10AM to ask me out to dinner the next night . Four years later here we are!

At first we met through a mutual friend- 2 years before we started dating.. We found out after talking we had more mutual friends. My friend told me that he liked me right away- he is two years younger than me- and I was 25 and he was 23- and at the time I thought, too young for me. We would see each other out at bars, etc through this one mutual friend- who had tried to set us up at one point- not really sure what happened with that.
Then we started running into each other on the street-- we both live in the city.. We would see each other walking to and from work- as we we lived/worked pretty close by.. I thought it was fate the whole time that we kept seeing each other- but he told me AFTER we were engaged that he would time when he left home or work so he could see me.
Anyway- almost a year after that- we had some friends get engaged.. We were both at their engagement party-- and we ended up hanging out then. We also went out with a couple of people after- and he finally asked me for my #.. He said to me... 'finally after two years, I get your phone number'.
Obviously he called me pretty quickly and the rest is history.
I remember discussing on our three month anniversary that we would get married.

I had stopped dating for about 2years to concentrate on finishing my degree, then a friend suggested I try the personals, I went on a few dates and was about to cancel my ad when he wrote and we have written and or spoken to each other everyday since. 3yrs later he we are.

Unbekonowst to me at the time, we were set up by my SIL (my brother's wife). My FH and my SIL have been friends since they were 6 years old; they met on the bus stop in 1st grade.
We met 6 days before my brother's wedding, when my FI crashed the bachelorette party to meet me, after my SIL sent him pics (without telling me and without my permission). He aggrivated, but intrigued me that night.
Patrick first kissed me on the dance floor at my brother's wedding and our first date was the night afterwards. That was three years ago this past July.

Sortof when I was dating my ex... But neither of us wanted to let on to it. So shortly after breaking up with the ex, I was supposed to go out with FH and a friend so they could meet and maybe set something up. She had to cancel I didn't and the rest is history... But the funny thing is my best friend of a million years hung out with him and his friends like 6 years earlier.... right around the corner from me. :( Everything happens when its time.

We swam together for our college team. We both swam backstroke and freestyle so were in the same lane. We were friends for 3 years, he asked me out 2 months before graduation, we've survived the long distance thing, and 3 and 1/2 years later we're engaged. I love hearing everybodies stories! I met FH on eharmony.com. I'd been dating a lot in the last couple years, meeting lots of people through set-ups, speed dating, the 'net, and I was getting discouraged. A friend in DC seemed to be having lots of luck with eharmony, so I decided that I would try it for 3 months and take a break from dating if nothing came of it. FH was the first person I initiated contact with, and we met after about a month (it was set up a little different than other personals sites). It turned out that he'd been attending grad school for a really long time just blocks from where I was working. And that was that!

We met in our Junior year of College....We were both dating other people, so we became really close friends.....We graduated in May 2002 from college & were very close friends..I ended my 5 1/2 year relationship due to problems...Then July 2002 we started dating & here we are now! He truly is my best friend!

My FH used to hang out at Hutley's religiously with his friends every weekend until I came around! They still joke around and say 'Wanna go to Hutleys'

We met at work- while in dental hygiene school i worked for a car dealership reception and service, my last semester I had to quit to study for my national boards so I gave 2 weeks notice and my boss said can you give me one more week, I said I guess, they called me during school the night girl called in sick could I come in, I said Ive been in clinic all day I will be in my scrubs ( i looked like a blueberry) and they said thats fine we need someone to cover the phones, so I came in looking terrible in scrubs, no makeup hair in pony tail, my FH passed by to go into service and I was like who's that- He was introduced to me and that was it, he kept coming in the back to see me- he said it was like a magnet force he couldnt help to keep coming and see me. I said i think he likes me but b/c he was 24 and I was 30 at the time i was like get real forget it too young and I was starting my career. But he was persistant and I fell in love- 2 weeks later after meeting we moved intogether!!!! And the best thing is I looked like such sh*t when we met. the rest is history 3 years later he proposed like 2 nights ago !!!!!

We met while we were both in the Police Academy, we used to car pool together. We actually were both dating other people at the time, so it was just friends at first. I ended my relationship, which was going south and he was ending his too. I love the fact that we were just friends for a while, I feel like we really got to know each other very well.

It's kind of funny..... we first met probably in 1997 through a friend in college. we saw each other occasionally over the next four years but I HATED him! I thought he was such a jerk! Fast foward to May 2002 when I went into the city for that college friends birthday and guess who was there? Well, we didn't know anyone at the party but each other so we had to talk and after a couple of drinks I decided he wasn't so bad. On the drunken walk to Penn station our mutual friend said 'You two are going to get married!' and here we are!!

We worked together for about 2 years. A small group of us that worked together and lived in NYC would always hang out, so we were friends for a while.
He claims he tried to get my attention for about a year, but I never thought of him that way. Then one day he invited me to a wedding, since he knew i'd be fun and knew a few of his friends....I took it as a friend doing a favor....but he managed to sweep me off my feet and we've been together ever since!

DH is good friends with this guy, who's fiance is one of my sister's college friends. My sister actually met him 2 months before I did while hanging out with her friend. But never thought to set us up or anything Anyway one night I wanted to go out and called my sister to see if she did too and she said I'm already going out with Jen and John but join us so I did. DH was there and he and I were introduced and that's when it all started.

We used to work together. I trained him and was sort-of his supervisor . He's also younger than I am. I had NO intension of dating him. But the chemistry was just too powerful. I left after we had been dating for 6 months for another company (and also a better job). I was already looking for another job when we started dating anyway. And he really gave me the support and encouragement to find the right one.
