Re: morning
I got on the A train thinking it would be horrible and eneded up getting in 45 minutes early. The commute was normal to me. MTA did a fine job this morning.

Re: morning
I never like to take the express bus on bad weather days. And the train is far from my house. I am trying REALLY REALLY hard to not feel guilty about staying home, but knowing you made it in with no problems is making me feel like I should have tried a little harder

if it's any consolation i only came in to be spiteful! i knew my boss wouldn't make it in (she also lives in queens) so it makes me look good! that way if i happen to be 'sick' tomorrow or friday my coworkers will say: 'well, kelly did come in to work during that snow storm' weird, i know!

Re: morning
I made it in from Queens to Manhattan ok. I was very impressed with mass transit. I left my house earlier thinking there would be delayed but I wasnt and got to work a half hour earlier. But the trains were empty I guess a lot of people chose to stay home today.
Kudos to us brave ones who made it in to work!

I usually take either the express bus or the subway. But as I've said multiple times this morning neither are very close to my house. The LIRR is even further (actually it's so far I've never even tried to take it).
If I hear on the traffic report that there are problems at the Midtown tunnel, I usually take the train.
ETA: I live in Kew Gardens on the Flushing side in a fairly remote spot....

Oh really?? My block is REALLY bad and I really don't think I'll make it off the block. But I feel horrible not going in. I feel so guilty

Re: morning
Sometimes I wish I lived out in the suburbs where I would get stuck in a snowstorm. It stinks when you are the only who made it in. You won't get compensated for it and the boss isnt gonna care.

Re: morning
Get this....my FH, who just got out of bed, and who mind you was encouraging me to call in sick, looked out the window and just said to me that I should have went in, that it was unreasonable to stay home! I could kill him!!!!!!!
