Morning Sickness, please help me.......

I am dying............

I was just in the bathroom at work, hugging the toilet bowl!

What can I take to make me feel better......?

Denise!!

I feel your pain I had it so bad from 6.5 weeks up until 10 weeks.

I tried everything and IMO Preggie Pops stink and aren't worth the money. I spent 15 bucks on them and thought they were worthless. My sickness would wake me up around 1am and then stick around until 8am.

What I learned was that I keep cans of gingerale in my car at all times and in my nightstand also saltines work but you must use them prior to raising your head from bed.

The only good thing about it IMO was that I felt the baby was sticking around and that the morning sickness kicking my butt was relieving my nerves a bit.

bagels!!! I swear by them.

Carbs are the key.. if you cant eat a bagel, then try crackers or just plain bread.

Tums also work wonders. Drink plenty of water or ginger ale.

Good Luck.. it will pass!

I used the starlite mints-the red and white peppermint round candies. They helped take the edge off.

I must have eaten about 1,000 of those in the first couple of weeks.

I wore them everyday until I was in my 2nd trimester. I took them off when I went to bed and when I went into the shower. They are pretty cheap and definatly worth a try. Good luck.

Ok, well I bought the sea bands last night. I slept with them on. It did help this mornign when I first woke up. However on the LIRR I had a gagging attack. Its horrible..... :(((

I guess I shouldn't complain, MS is what I didn't have in the last two pregnancies and what I wished for................

They were only $10. So even if they help a LITTLE its sooooooo worth it.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Does anyone know when MS stops. I know everyone is different and some woman have it their whole pregnancies, but what do the majority of woman have it for?? Please give me some hope I only have a few more weeks of this......

Hope you are feeling a little better today. I know it is rough. I never got physically ill but I did gag enough and feel queasy all day long. Most people say it does clear up as you enter your second trimester. Mine lightened around 13 weeks and went away around week 14/15. Bad news though - mine has come back in week 22-24 - not as bad - but enough that I can't concentrate on work - thus why I am on the boards a lot more lately.

Also, I found eating a lot helped me - mostly carbs - but crackers make me gag. It also build me nice big thighs, butt and hips - lol!

Hi Denise,

Thanks for the advice. I hope this ends VERY SOON!

By the way, when did you notice that your clothes started getting tighter? I am only 5 1/2 weeks and I only have two pairs of pants left that I can wear comfortably. My stomache already looks different! It looks like I am going to have to do some clothes shopping very soon.....

Mine began to stop at week 13 and was gone by 14..
My cloths starting feeling tight around week 7-8... now at week 16 I am already in maternity clothes..
They are big, but I am so much more comfortable.

Ok, so I am not that far off. I started feeling the tightness yesterday and today. I could still wear them, but they are getting TIGHT! I will be 6 weeks on Sunday. Did you just get bigger sized clothing when things started getting tight or did you go right to maternity?

Thanks!

Re: Morning Sickness, please help me.......

Denise I had horrible morning sickness my entire pregnancy

On a good note, a lot of people commented to me that it was good I had MS because it meant the baby was in there good

So see it as a good thing

BTW: anything I tried that people 'sweared by' usually only worked for a minimal amount of time. I just had to deal with it. The weirdest thing after I had him was all of a sudden it was gone and I felt great

Re: Morning Sickness, please help me.......

My MS started around week 4 or 5 and lasted until about week 14. All of a sudden one day I woke up and I felt fine.

Hang in there. It's well worth it.
