Original post by Donna

I saw this topic on another website and thought it might be fun to discuss here.

For me the most disturbing movies I have seen are:
Bully
Boys don't cry
In the company of men
Very Bad Things

What are yours?

Passion of the Christ is THE most disturbing movie I have ever watched. You couldn't pay me to sit through it a second time.

I whole-heartily agree - I do not think I could ever sit through that again.

I absolutely agree!!!

A Clockwork Orange was by far the most disturbing movie I have ever seen. I can't hear the song Singing in the Rain anymore without cringing.

I agree

Happiness
Buffalo 66...creepy
Clockwork Orange

Aaaaah... I forgot about Happiness! Todd Solondz's other movie, Welcome to the Dollhouse, also really creeped me out.

Another vote for Dancer in the Dark, too.

Others: Crash (should've walked out on that one), Clean Shaven, The Wall, Chuck and Buck.

Deep Impact was by far one of the most disturbing movies i've ever seen. I cried through practically the whole movie. My DH, who I was only dating at the time was like, 'It's just a movie' but I kept thinking how it could really happen.

I thought that movie was amazing....everyone in the theatre gasped when the wave come down onto the beach.... Very sad though, very sad indeed.

Definitely agree w/ American History X.

Requiem for a Dream - that ending especially seriously disturbed me. It's something I don't want to see again, though I felt the movie as a whole was very good.

i agree about Requiem for a Dream. I saw it on IFC, and I kept having to change the channel...my heart was racing and the last scene was sick. really a disturbing movie. i had a hard time sleeping that night.

LOL - me too! I LOVE Quentin Tarantino, so of course I love Natural Born Killers and Res. Dogs. Clockwork Orange has always been a favorite, too... we own all of these movies on DVD!

And I'm sorry, but Deep Impact was LAME!!!

I have seen Kids, and YES it was very disturbing. So was American History X. Sick. But I like sick movies

'evil dead' maybe? with the tree raping the girl? that was sick, but I LOVE that trilogy!!! (can do without the first one) i love bruce campbell!!!

I've seen Dead Alive and I thought it was silly, because it was so obviously overdone. VERY over the top special effects... and I thought a lot of it was funny... but I guess it all depends on where your sense of humor comes from! Mine's obviously a bit dark! I also know people in the film business, so I just see it as a theatrical production.

And the Evil Dead series is total comedy...

Re: Most disturbing movie?

Clockwork Orange
Eraserhead
Farenheit 9/11
What ever happened to Baby Jane
Requiem for a Dream
Natural Born Killer
Momento
Welcome to the Dollhouse
Lord of the Flies
Jacob's Ladder
12 Monkeys

I love all of these movies. I found them disturbing in a 'Wow, I need to think about this' kinda way.
