Mother of the Bride Dresses???

My mom and I went looking for MOB dresses a few weeks ago and were very disappointed. My mom felt all of the dresses were old lady looking and mom isn't old and doesn't want to look older. Does anyone recommend a place that has a large selection of dresses. Thanks in advance.

The macy's in manhasset. They had it on the manican near the veils when we went last month. They had JUST gotten it in the day before and my mom was the first to try it on She fell in love right then and there.

The store we went to was Macy's in Manhassett. My mom actually tried that dress on. I t is very pretty but it only comes in 2 colors. I think it is Champagne and the light rose color the model is wearing. My mom didn't like the way she looked in the rose color and Champagne is even lighter. She tend to look her best in darker colors like a bright blue or pink.

where do you live? What area would you want to travel to? there is a place by me that has really nice dresses but they are a little $$$. I think it only seems expensive b/c the price includes all alterations.

Here are some other places you can look:

Commack Wedding Center
Helen's Bridal (also located in Commack)
Bridal Suite of Huntington
RK Bridal in Manhatten

A little all over the map, but if you're willing to travel, you may find something at one of these places.

Good Luck!

...also, Estelle's in Farmingdale.
They have a pretty big selection, but they don't do alterations there. You just buy off the rack and bring it somewhere else to get altered.
