mother of the bride question!!

mother of the bride question!!

my mom and i are off this week so shes like u wanna come with me to look for a dress for her to wear at the wedding, not thinking we would find anything....

my mom ended up lovinggg a black dress with swarovski crystals on it. she actually ordered it bc it was soo beautiful and elegant. she LOVES black dresses that have sparkle lol. my nana said that she should not wear black though! she was sooo mean lol. any of ur moms or fh's mom gonna wear black???


it's soo pretty and just her style!

Gotta love nanas lol.

My mom isn't wearing all black, but the top of her dress is black. I think it's fine...I think it would be worse if FH's mother wore black though, that can be construed as a bit of an insult haha.

I'm not sure yet what she's gonna wear to mine, but she wore dark brown to my brother's wedding and it looked really nice. If it has some rhinestones then I don't think it's bad. I only think it's in poor taste if your mom doens't have a good relationship w/you or the groom. Then it would look like she's trying to make a negative statement. But if everyone knows she's on good terms w/you & your FH then I don't think it should matter. JMO!

aww yea, im VERYY close to my mom and she loves fh but i didnt know what everyone else would think lol. she just fell in love with the dress and its honestly, perfect for her. its soo beautiful!

Yea i hear that. I had a granny like that. Now that she passed we know it was just her age. Normally she was always the granny that took us shopping etc. Its kind of funny now that we thik about it.

I think black is fine...my bm's are wearing black and I'm thinking my FMIL will probably end up wearing black too I think it's fine as long as she feels wonderful in it and you like it I think its fine!

FH's mom was going to wear black, but then found something else. I thought it was weird at first her mouring the loss of her son, yada yada yada. However for your mom I think it is fine.

My mom wore black to my brothers wedding, I think it's absolutely fine! If she loves it and it doesn't bother you then I say go for it!

my mom wants to wear black, but im kind of giving her a hard time about it. I guess the more I keep talking to people the more moms I hear are wearing black- maybe its ok after all?

Don't worry about your grandmother. In her time no one would have worn black to a wedding. Black was a color of mourning, it simply wasn't worn to weddings. But this is a different time. I think the dress sounds gorgeous.
