I dont know alot of guests where black which may cause her not to stand out....IMO I would think it would be nice to have a great color and have her really stand out from the crowd.
I kind of feel like it might look a bit morbid. Guests can wear black and even the bp but I kind of look at mothers wearing black as not being happy at the wedding. Especially when there are so many nice colors to choose from.

personally, i dont want ANYONE wearing black at my wedding but i really cant control that... and def not MOB ... my mom is the opposite and wanted to match the bp... i told her to hit the road ...![]()

Thank you so much jkfris09. I showed my mom what you wrote and she liked the way you put it that she wouldn't stand out and now she wants to go with red, lol! Go figure!!
Maybe a soft black with some/a lot of detail might look ok.
i would like my mom to stand out, I dont think that black would be good.
I personally don't care what my mom and FMIL wear to the wedding. But I do know that my mom will not wear black. She wore navy blue to my sister's, and a plum to my brothers, so we both decided that this time around it will be hunter green!
If it will make her feel better by being in black let it be. Some dresses look better in black anyway.
I don't care what color she wears as long as its not white or something close to white!
