Mother Vent
WARNING - THIS MIGHT BE A LONG ONE
So my mother and I are already at it and I've been engaged for less than a month. We have talked about a June 04 reception for the last week as FH is probably starting grad school in Sept 04 and her business is busiest July - December. We are on the phone last night and I told her I want to book the hall and the church asap and I am told that I am a bridezilla and I have all the time in the world. She said 'weddings are easy' and 'I thought you would wait until FH had his graduate school plans in place'. As I carefully explained he won't get his acceptances until March 04 and then trying to plan a wedding before he starts school is impossible. Then she insists again that I must have my cousins in the bridal party, making it the size of a small country. Oh, and I'm not to plan on getting the bridal pary gifts - instead I'm to buy their dress as their gift. As if that is a suitable gift!!!And to top it all off she insists on having total control over everything, telling me that I MUST use a certain florist and photographer. FH and I wanted to do this all on our own, but with his grad school in the near future we graciously accepted my parents offer of help. I'm stuck now, but I know this is just going to get worse. Sorry for the vent - I'm sure its only one in a long stream of them and overall I'm pretty lucky to have such supportive parents. I just hate being called a bridezilla....
