Moving the wedding back?

Original post by SummerBride10

I talked with FH today and we're not sure if we'll be able to afford to have the wedding in July 2010. Not sure if we can save up enough money.
So now we're considering moving it back to late 2010 (Nov/Dec) or even early 2011.

I feel like I'm waiting so long as it is. But I dont want to be paying for ONE day for the next 10 years...

We havent made any definite decisions and won't for awhile. But its so frustrating. I'd rather move it back a few months and have the wedding of my dreams then just do it in city hall now.

I guess in the end what matters most is I'm getting married to a wonderful man. I just hope we dont have to push it back

Well if you move into that time of year you will definately end up saving money on price per person alone. You have to do what's best for you guys. I am lucky enough that things are working out for the date I want.. FH & I are cutting a lot of corners but it will be worth it. But if we had to we would move our date if it made our financial situation better or more stable.

don't worry everything will be fine. It will be just as nice. I honestly might have to do the same thing bc i can't save a penny with this stupid job screwing me over right now. So keep your head up u'll still be marrying your best friend whats a few more months?

like the other girls, i think november or december would be a beautiful wedding, i'd go with it if the FI would agree to it but he won't (hates the cold, what kinda ny-er is he?!!??!)

anyways, best of luck!

I hate the cold too!

Lucky for us right now our date is working in our favor... so far. But if I had to I would have a winter wedding if it came down to a financial situation.

JT gave us greta prices for winter. I belive thursday prices in the summer are sats prices in the winter!

Wow Sorry to hear about that ... it a bummer to wait it out but it understandable... better to owe no one in the end than to be in debt up to your neck-after it done... Anytime you do it it will be worth it.. Good luck to you

Is April an expensive month?? you guys seem to be good with the peak and off peak times...

It's a smart move to do this so you can pay off a wedding comfortably. Also, IMO I personally LOVE a wedding in November or December. JT is beautiful then!

i just moved my wedding back a whole year..for personal and financial reasons. I know it's upsetting to think about doing that but you have to do whats right for your situation

I think you will be able to save alot of money but changing the month. Also your right, you dont want to spend your life paying for this wedding. Its beautiful anytime you do and if you really think about it whats another few months. In that time you can save more and do more, So dont worry!

Right now, the price we're paying for head is VERY low (FH knows the one of the BM there so he got us a great deal). Basically, he told us as of now, if he charged us any LESS they'd be losing money from our wedding.

We want to move it back in order to have more months to save. I dont think the price would go down to much from what we're payng (since we're paying so little as it is).

Unfortunatly, what seems to be an amazing price for a wedding really adds up to thousands of dollars when you end up inviting 200 people!

Collen... so sorry We moved our wedding until March 2010 to save money... and it saved us a lot. March and January are cheap months to get married -- so are November and December.

JT is beautiful all the time. Meet with your BM and although you're getting a good deal, he may even be able to get you a better deal if you change time of year... especially since he can charge someone else MORE for July.
