MTV searching for couples who are getting married!-LONG
Hi everyone- A co-worker of mine owns her own wedding site (http://www.blissweddings.com) and she was contacted by MTV. Below is the info--just passing it along in case anyone is interested! MTV Network has asked us to look for a bridal couple for an upcoming weddings documentary similar to the famous TLC`s 'A Wedding Story' but very 'MTV'. The documentary will film 80% of the planning and 20% of the wedding. Three types of weddings will be showcased: non-traditional (hot air balloon, for example), elopement (Vegas, for example), or wealthy (money is no object). We are asked to find the bridal couple who has lots of money to spend. Here are the qualifications: 1. Your wedding must cost more than the average wedding (they`re talking at least $80,000). Money is no object here. 2. Bride and Groom must be 18 - 28 years old 3. First time bride and groom 4. Wedding must be held in April, May, June, July or August of this year MTV will not pay for any part of your wedding. They will just be documenting the main phases of your wedding planning (choose the cake, the dress, etc.) culminating in the actual wedding ceremony itself. It will not be done a la 'Real World' where the camera is on you 24/7. The cameras will not be very intrusive. The show will air in September 2002. They are looking for candidates by this Wednesday - Friday the lastest. If interested, please contact me at [email protected]

I received a letter from Kleinfelds in Brooklyn where I purchased my gown, and they wanted couples to send in a letter and pictures for a documentary of 'True Life - Wedding'. The letter didn't say anything about the wedding costing around $80,000. They generally wanted to follow you around leading up to the big day. They only wanted couples getting married from April thru July. I think it would be alot to have a whole other camera crew there and as much as they say they will not be intrusive. I also don't think it's fair that they would only want a 'bridal couple who has lots of money to spend'. We all know how costly our weddings are turning out to be. I am averaging out how much my wedding is going to cost and it's going to be costley but I am not a couple who has lots of money to spend. If they consider $80,000 costly (wealthy) then what is the average wedding called. Just my thoughts

Hi everyone- Just to clarify why I posted this info: This was just intended as a heads up for anyone out there who might be interested in being showcased on MTV. I, myself, am not spending anywhere near $80,000 on my wedding. I`m not even spending close to $20,000. This was just intended as a FYI. Obviously, it`s not going to be an easy task finding a couple who fits this profile. This is an MTV production and the documentary is going to feature 3 different types of weddings-an elopement, a non-traditional and the wealthy one. They apparently have the first 2 couples and are looking for the 3rd. I`m not sure if the letter you received from Kleinfeld`s is the same production.

Yeah it was the same letter b/c I confirmed it with Kleinfelds and MTV when I received it. I think it will be interesting to see what actually happens in the (3) situations that were listed before as requirements.

Yeah, I'll be really curious to see who fits into the profile they're looking for - weddings around here are so much higher than the national average, yet I'm sure most don't even come close to $80K!Welcome New Vendors
