I am getting such mixed reviews, anyone have any advice on using one or the other?

If you mean a mud floor under the tile then yes I have it! The tile stays forever! No cracks...doesn't lift. Really cool. It does make the floor higher so sometimes you need to lift a door, etc....

a mud floor under tile is the right way to do it. The 'wonderboard' or concrete board is a less expensive way to do it. If its tile that you don't plan on replacing anytime soon you should go for the mud base.

Moving of doorways is exactly why we were leaning towards wonderboard. Price has been the same but I have only one person that does wonderboard that came and gave us an estimate. You girls have any Tile installer names?
