Re: must play list
I wouldn't give them to many. You want to keep it short so the DJ and MCee can do what you hired them for. You don't want them stuck to a list.

Re: must play list
We were told about 40 upbeat songs. Plus the songs for special dances (which don't have to be upbeat).
I think you can give another 20 or so for the cocktail hour if you really want to control it (and those don't have to be upbeat dance songs).
I'm going to start getting our list together over the next week or two. So much to do!! I'm still on 'vacation' though so not yet... my plan is to put my ipod into itunes and see what songs I listen to most often to help with our must play list.

Re: must play list
We are giving the DJ a list of a few songs we really want and then just letting them do what they do best for the rest of the night

Re: must play list
FH is VERY particular about the kind of music he wants played at our wedding, so you better believe that a must play list is going to be involved. He knows that we have to play SOME Top 40 music to appease our younger cousins (and some of our older guests too!) but he doesn't want, say T.I. and Lady Gaga to have any place in our reception. So yes, we're giving him a must play list.
. . .wait, I pretty much answered this as a 'do not play list' question instead of a 'must play' question. Oops.

Re: must play list
My Dj suggested between 30-35 but I am only giving him about half that and leaving him to make the choice based on our favorite artist and music genres.
