My Big News (biggest yet so far!)

We will not be living on the street as we thought we would be when we get married!

We put a downpayment on a house! Well, it's more like an apartment I guess, in a 2-Family House!

We'll be in Brooklyn (whooo hooo) - in Dyker Heights, a few blocks from where I grew up! Can't be more ecstatic right now! Such a relief!!!!!!

We start construction in March and will be ready to move in on April 15 (two weeks before the wedding ) We decided to take a wall down that currently seperates the kitchen and dinning room and re-do the whole kitchen adding an island that will seperate the dinning room and kitchen!

We have three bedrooms - one of which (the smaller one) will be for the FI's den....the other will be a guest bedroom until I decide to move my best friend in (think that'll go over smooth with FI???)

Anyway, enough with mundane details girls, just wanted to share! I'm going to take pictures soon (need to wait for the current residents move out) and I promise to post!

It's on 71st Street between Ft. Hamilton Parkway and 10th Avenue!

It's a two family rail house (connected on both sides) and we three bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and a small porch that overlooks the backyard (wish we had the backyard, but we don't) and a full bathroom (also going to be rennovated)

We put down a huge chunk of change (25K) so that we could keep our mortgage payments below 1.5K per month - and we did...we're going to be paying approximately 1K per month!

let me know what other information you want Jess...if you need a real estate agent, etc...i think the first floor might be vacating soon...so maybe we can be house mates...LOL
