My Bridal Reflections experience...

My Bridal Reflections experience...

Ok here is the third post in regards to this situation.

I changed the title to make abide by the liweddings rules....

I want to thank all the girls who are offereing me advice and sharing their stories with me. This post is not done because I am just a little upset, this post is written because my experience was horrendous.

Two weeks ago, I had my first fitting at the Carle Place Bridal Reflections. There was a stain on my dress....and the dress was two sizes too small. They removed the stain...and sent me home. I was 'ok' at that point.

Yesterday, was my second fitting. And guess what, the dress had various red blotches throughtout the back of the gown. The attendant idenitifed it as blood....as well as the seamstress who concluded to tell me that she pricks her fingers all the time. WELL SO NOW I AM STANDING IN A BLOODY WEDDING GOWN. I felt disgusted....the General Manager eventually came over...and asked me 'what color lipstick are you wearing' (none)...then she inspected my personal markings on my arm and asked me if they were pin marks. I replied and told her, that this was my 'body' . I was humiliated, and very disappointed. I was not the cause of this carelessness...I wasn't the one who soiled my wedding gown.

I have gone twice for fittings. Both times the dress appears, used, tattered and soiled. I love the designer ....she makes the most elegant dresses. However, I am not sure that Yolanda Couture dresses should be shown with filth on the back of them.

I left the store and my mother decided that she wanted to call. She eventually , after the General Manager was twisting the story around, asked the General Manager if she could compensate in the price. Her reply was 'absolutely not' ...I asked to talk to this heartless lady one more time and she accused me to only be interested in the money lol My wedding is costing my fh and I a lot of money, this dress while is expensive, because of the quality....is not making a difference in the expense of our wedding. I was appalled and insulted that, she would speak to anyone like that,

I hope this time the post is not removed. This is a horrible situation for me. I am heartbroken and at a lost as what to do next. My wedding is in 27 more days.

Any support or advice, is greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry about the way you are being treated. Please have faith that it will work out and you will look beautiful on your wedding day.

As for the vendor, my hall also recommended them 'if not just for the experience, because you are treated like a princess' PRINCESS? From what country!!?

Again...word of mouth. It would really be in their best interest to rectify this situation for you.

Good Luck!

I am so sorry also but I bought my dress from the store in Massapequa and have nothing but great things to say about them! I have been there many times and they make me feel so welcome. I just know now to inspect my dress very hard before taking it home. Again I am so sorry for your horrible experience. All the above is JMO!!!

Re: My Bridal Reflections experience...

I am so sorry for your bad experience. I hope that everything works out for you! to you.

It makes me so upset when I hear of these situations, they must think because you're a bride, you have no brain! HELLO??? If it was any other situation but a WEDDING situation, any customer service/retail salespeople would immediately help to rectify the situation, isn't the customer always right???? I know we won't be returning in the future to purchase another dress, but do they understand what passing along a wonderful reference to another future bride is???

BRIDES are CUSTOMERS TOO and astonishingly, we have BRAINS.

Sorry for the long vent...

Re: My Bridal Reflections experience...

That is terrible, I am so sorry that you have had this experince. Your bridal salon should know that this is already a very stressful time and try not to add to this stress. I have always heard not so great things about that store and that is the reason why I do not intend on going there. My soon to be sister in-laws bridal party dresses kept coming in in the color............I'm sure it will all work out in the end and you will have a beautiful day.

Re: My Bridal Reflections experience...

Ask them to have the dress sent out to be cleaned and pressed at their cost!! With such little time left, the most important thing is the fitting first and then the cleaning. My dress had a little lipstick on it and I had my dressed cleaned and it came out, you could not tell it was ever there.

If that doesn't work out, I am a dress size 4 and would offer to let you borrow mine

Bumping...because some brides might miss this important piece of info.

At this point, I would get your gown out of there and bring it to a seamstress. I think it is worth the extra money to have some peace of mind at this point. I too had a bad experience similar to yours (at a different salon) I waited until two days before my wedding to bring it to a seamstress. Although she couldn't make major repairs...it made a huge difference. GET YOUR GOWN OUT OF THERE!

OMG I am so sorry...

AnnieB is right, with not too much time yet, you don't want to have to worry about this!

Karin Yvong.(sp?) is supposed to be really good and its worth it not to have to stress! Did you pay by credit card? If so you can get your money back for the alterations at least!

Re: My Bridal Reflections experience...

I am very angry for you ! Bleeding on your wedding dress and then trying to blame it on you is just too much! I think that you should go their with a digital camera and take pics of the damage. It is your dress after all. Tell them that you need to document the stains on your dress since they have not offered you any reasonable compensation. Then see how they react.

Re: My Bridal Reflections experience...

I can't believe they tried to blame you for them soiling your dress! I'm a bit worried, since I ordered my gown at the Massapequa store. I agree with Annieb as well and believe you should get your dress out of there and bring it to a seamstress. I would then also send them the bill for it! Is there anyway you can call the store in Massapequa and ask to speak to their General Manager and see if you can file a complaint? If not, call up the Better Business Bureau. Even call Asa Aarons!!!

Well good luck and keep us updated!

Re: My Bridal Reflections experience...

I can't believe that Bridal Reflections has done this!
I went to that store when I was looking, but something about it made me thing twice about getting my gown there. They were very fixated on the price of the gowns, which just didn't seem right to me.
Good luck - I hope that everything works out for your wedding!

I'm so sorry to hear this! It's very upsetting...I too ordered a Yolanda gown and I'm currently waiting for it to arrive. Let them try that with me and my mom, she will absolutely flip out since she's paying for the dress(as a gift).

Good luck to you and keep us updated.
Who was your seamtress?
