MY CAR WAS STOLEN LAST NIGHT!!!!

I'm so upset! My FI and I went to the store last night and I bought my friend her bridal shower gift. My car had been stolen while I was shopping last night! And we aren't insured for theft since our cars are saturns and older, who would possibly want my car (besides me of course). We were already having financial problems and fighting about money. Now I have to buy a new car with all of my savings for the wedding! I've been trying to save a lot too since I didn't have much and now it's all gone, just like that! I can't even stop crying, I feel so violated!

I was at Bed, Bath and Beyond buying my friend a shower gift. I live in San Diego, so it was here.

My FH and I borrowed his brothers car and we went into the supermarket and his car was stolen. Next to the car the theives left another car running, which ran out of gas when the cops got theer. 3 weeks later, a friend of the family saw the car on the side of the road with the windows open and everyone said it had been there for a while. THe car was fine, except for minor damage, like a busted interior light, the seats had to be cleaned and the took the cap to the where you put in the antifreeze. SO have hope that it might be found.

Seriously, what is wrong with people?? And what's even more sad is how many people have responded in this thread that they too have either been a victim of car theft or have known a victim. I ask my husband all the time .. 'why can't people just leave other people's things alone?' .. of course, I truly don't expect an answer .. it's just a statement of disgust.

Hang in there .. certainly you didn't need for this to happen now .. or ever .. but it'll work out. Hopefully, you'll get your car back .. if not .. maybe you can shop around for something .. anything .. just to get you around til you're in a better situation. Don't be afraid to shop around .. a friend of mine was just telling me about someone he knew that bought an Oldsmobile .. Oldsmobile is being discontinued .. so it seems they are offering great deals on their cars .. apparently, this guy's friend got a new car with 0% interest and only put down $100 .. plus, from what I also understand Oldsmobile's warranties now run 5 years/60,000 miles .. yes, Olds is being fazed out .. but they are GM cars.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Unfortunately the weekend has passed and they still have not found my car. I know that the 48 hour period is normally when it should have been found, so I guess soon I should be accepting the fact that I might have to get another car. The car that was stolen was a used car and at that time it was all I could afford. Now it seems that I am in the same predicament. My FI and I are trying to figure out if we can get away with sharing one car for a while. Is there anything I can do to help find my car? My FI and I drove around a lot over the weekend hoping to find it, but there is so much ground to cover it almost seems impossible.

Im so sorry to hear about your car, but dont give up hope. I had 2 cars stolen and both were found. The first was a chevy cavalier from NYC and it was found a week later at a repair shop abandon with only minor damage, I think they just went for a joy ride. And then I had my civic stolen from in front of my apartment in queens, they found it 3 days later after an old man reported it since the steering wheel was broke and the car was abandon by his house. So the police were never the ones responsible for finding my car!.....Theres still hope! and if not the 0% interest rates are a good deal now!

I'm sorry your car was stolen - but don't give up hope yet. My friend's BMW was stolen & on the DAY that her insurance would've kicked in & paid for a new car, the cops found the old one. I think a few months passed. Either way I hope you're able to work something out - look into used cars so you don't have to spend all your wedding savings replacing it!! good luck!
