The Chuch where we were supposed to have our ceremony just called me (while at my friends baby shower) to tell me that unexpected construction is taking place on our date and they are going to have to try to find a different church to hold our ceremony. I called the other day to confirm our time and they were acting really wierd and said someone would call me back!! I am so angry and upset. The priest that called is hoping another church in the area will have our date and time available. Thank God I told the printer to hold off on the invites. I am so angry and upset. I know it is really not anyones fault. Sorry just need to vent.

If your family friend is marrying you can he do it in his church?
ETA: If you get married at the rh, which will be beautiful, you can always have it blessed afterwards in the church.

wow im totally sorry that happen to you! my friends church is going through the same thing, although they plan on starting construction the day after her wedding, but there was all this talk it was going to happen the week before and she was freeeeaking out!

Saints Phillip and James RC in St. James (my church, I hate it, but that's neither here nor there LOL) Saint Patrick's in Smithtown Parish of the Holy Cross in Nesconset (very small parish, so extremely likely they would be able to accommodate you) St. James RC Church in Setauket Infant Jesus RC Church in Port Jeff St. Gerard Mejella in Port Jeff Station
Then going down a little south:
St. Joseph in Ronkonkoma St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Holbrook I think? St. Margaret of Scotland in Centereach/Selden, can't remember.
I would recommend the first few though, because they're minutes from Flowerfield, and nice churches too! HTH!

He lives and works at St. John's University. Too far of a ride I am thinking. That is a good idea. I am going to call Flowerfield today to look into having it there if worse comes to worse.

You are the best!! That is a great list. We were supposed to get married at St. Patrick's. It is such a beautiful church. I am sure there are plenty of other beautiful churches though. Thank you sooooo very much!

**UPDATE** So the priest who called me Saturday called me to tell me he reserved a church in the same area for our date AND time. It is Holy Cross in Nesconset. I have no idea what is looks like at all but I am very happy that it was taken care of. If we have one more problem with the Catholic church, I don't know what to do. We have had problems from day one. I am hoping that is smooth sailing from here with this whole thing! Thanks again girls for all of your help and input!

I'm so sorry. That is really upsetting. Your invites could have so easily already have been printed too. That's really annoying. I hope you find another church really soon. Good luck!

I'm glad to hear it worked out! I never have been inside the church, but I drive past it often, and I've seen a picture of the inside from a communion of an old coworker's daughter. It's a small church, but it's not like derelict or anything. It's cozy, the outside it kind of triangular looking almost like Saints Phillip and James in St. James. Good luck with everything!
