My cousin's Wedding-- 8/11/01

I went to my cousin's wedding this weekend and it was great!!! First thing I have to say to all brides is---Don't be late for your ceremony!!! The bride who was getting married at 1:30(the wedding before my cousin's) didn't show up at the church til 2:20!!!! We started showing up at the church at 2:30 for my cousing's 3:00 wedding and had to stand around waiting for an hour(it was raining too) Ok to the details-- Land's End is a beautiful place!! It was great to be able to move around to different rooms and even outside during the cocktail hour. The food was very good also. The first course was a Chicken Ceasar salad, the second course was the Lobster Risotto Purse and the choices for the main entree were Prime Rib, Swordfish and Chicken breast(bone in)with some sort of sauce. Oh and the bridal attendant was wonderful. My cousin's dress was quite dirty after the photo session and the bridal attendant was able to clean it up before the reception. Invitation to Dance - They had everyone dancing all night, mostly playing '70's and '80's music. Patken Photography - Their photographer(I forgot his name, but will find out)was very nice and kept everyone laughing. In typical Patken style he had the entire wedding party in crazy positions to get those amazing photos. 1-800-Flowers- I can't say enough about the flowers. They were beautiful!!!! The bride's bouquet was all pink roses and the bridesmaids had some pink roses along with greenery and assorted purplish fillers. The centerpieces were raised stands with a fabulous arrangement on top and hanging votive candles below. All of the dresses came from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and I know that she was very pleased with them. The one thing was that they had strapless dresses and everyone had a problem keeping them up except the one girl who had her alterations done at the Carle Place location. When you go for your fittings make sure you jump up and down and do whatever else to make sure that the dresses are tight enough. By the end of the night the girls were a little tired of 'rearranging' themselves. Oh, I almost forgot---My cousin's husband loves Star Wars so for their entrance in to the reception the had Star Wars music. The bridal Party were give light sabres to make the arch that the bride and groom walk through. It was a big hit!!!!!
