dont stress, it only takes seconds to tighten a setting! You can just stop in and they do it...

dont cancel your TK appointment!!

Oh no!! Def. take it to the jeweler. It's annoying but better safe than sorry.

I had that also! It was actually like that when FH proposed - your ring is fine. . I would def take it to the jeweler, but it will only take 10-15 minutes to get it tightened. Don't cancel your appointment, just get to the jeweler as they open so that you don't have to wait in line!

well i have no choice but to cancel - the jeweler doesnt open until 11 - but i have a make up trial with maureen pedala at 12 - so i cant go to the jeweler until i am done with maureen - maureen is in NYC and the jeweler is deep into jersey (like 45 minutes away from my house so its even further away once im in the city) - which leaves no time to make it into long island by 4:30 - b/c TK is probably like 2 hours drive from the jeweler and i dont think ill have enough time to do all three things b/c they are all spread out so far from eachother

i cant wait to get it fixed - i dont have those claw prongs that you usually see on a round stone - my prongs are just bars that the diamond is wedged between - my prongs don't make a cage around the diamond - its more of a tension setting i guess - the only piece that covers my diamond a little is the V on the bottom (i have a pear diamond) so im nervous!

i am so bummed - i feel like everything is going wrong lately i know its not a big deal but this is such an inconveinence - we planned on going to the jeweler next month for wedding bands but i guess we'll just do it this weekend since the jeweler is out of the way for us...now i cant wear my ring all week - im going to feel naked!

Its happened to me a few times. If you shake it and can hear it clicking, it means its loose.

Sounds like your prongs are loose! Maybe don't wear your ring till you take it in to be fixed. Just incase!

Aww that stinks... it's an inconvenience, but be grateful you noticed before anything happened to it.

do not panic! I've had a few friends that this has happened to. it doesn't take long to have it fixed I don't believe.

I had this same probelm. You don't need to bring it to your jeweler, you can just bring it to any jewelry repair place. I went to one in the Lake Success mall, it tok 3 minutes. I never took my eyes off the diamond and it only costed a couple of bucks.

im just nervous to bring it to someone else - i heard that if they set it too tight in can crack the diamond!

Can't crack a diamond, as far as I know. I wouldn't take it to the repair guy in the mall, but a nicer jeweler usually have repair people on the spot. You should be fine, I probably just wouldn't leave it behind with a person I don't know.

I know how you feel. I have an antique setting with small channel set diamonds around the band and one day I noticed one of my small stones was missing! I was devastated and felt that my ring will never be same and I was without my ring for 2 weeks while it was fixed! But they did a great job and I can't tell the difference at all.

Don't worry, it will all work out, and look on the bright side-- better now than a week before your wedding!
