my fh just made me cut up my credit cards

yep. i was out of control. we just sat for 2 hours and made a budget out. we cut up allllllllll my credit cards. it was a very difficult task haha

Good for you. It took me a long time but I finally learned how to pretend that they are not in my wallet. It isn't easy but you get used to it.

we started with the budgets about 6 months before we were engaged and I have since then paid off two credit cards...

I tell you it feels good to send in that last payment...

i'm proud of you i think you set a good example for all of us.

it can be so easy to let them get out of hand. i am trying my best to pay down my bills before starting my new life w/ FH

yes the debt crept up on both of us....its so easy to just take out the plastic.....and swipe it!!

so now i have to pay for everythign with cash!!! i told fh it may take us 70808 years to pay this off haha

I only have one CC and didn't want to cut it up in case of emergencies so Aaron froze it in a block of ice in the freezer... it's worked for a while.

Mine too! His cards are maxed out, i'm very OCD about paying mine off right away... it's bothering me that the HM is on mine and I might not be able to pay it off right away!

i need to do that also! my credit card is maxed but not even from fun spending..all bc of grad school that is really hard to pay off now with interest and everything so i dont use it anymore either bc i basically cant use it since its maxed uhhh

i 'paid' my way trhough grad school-and didnt take out a loan--so thats pretty much why im in such debt, i used my credit cards for EVERYthing...but it just out of control-im out of control....bye bye cards

i froze ours too...but hot water just unfreezes it reallll quick so yea had to cut them up. i only have one in tact.
