My Fiance has taken over!

My Fiance has taken over!

I found out last nightlooking at the boards that Steven has posted so many topics. I think this is turning into his wedding. He is inviting 154 alone (I have 50) and we cannot afford this. He was on the vendor board looking at bands without me even knowing. I think he is even looking at bridesmaid dresses!

Girls - Is anyone experincing this? How do I get him off the board.?

Awh!
All that I can say is that I think it is cute that he is so involved.....but at the same time he should be doing these things with you! You need to have a serious chat with him.....especially about the guest list.

- I am sorry to laugh but I think thats sweet!
Mine is the total opposite. Unless its the Bachelor party or Honeymoon its like pulling teeth to go check out vendors.
Just compromise- maybe he has some good ideas. I wish mine would care more.

My FI is on the boards, but he actually stays more on the Home and NWR boards. Sometimes he will FM cute messages, especially if I am working late and we haven't seen each other all day.

Aww! Don't kick him off the board. Just because he's looking doesn't mean he's actually planning...

1) 154 Is mostly my parents friends and business people - It came with the package and was known - Making it an issue at this point only leads to unnecessary tension over something that can't be changed.

2) The bachelor party is taken care of.

3) It's DAMN cute - just look at the avatar pic I found of us.

Hey, Steph, I'll trade ya!

My fi had a GM say 'no' (for a good reason) and JUST NOW decided to ask 2 other GMs instead. With about 5 weeks before the wedding. When I ask him what he has done to help with wedding planning, he quite seriously tells me that he picked out tuxes. He considers that a contribution to our planning. (By the way, I actually picked them out. He just nodded.)

Well..that part needs to be rephased..

Many FH (me) post here...don't feel like he is looking without you... He is doing it for both of you. From what i hear, many FH don't even want to deal with any of this... I love all this stuff and will be sad that i can't do it any more. Be happy is looking and make sure you do stuff together.

You should be happy! Most guys don't want any part of wedding plans. I have to beg to get my FH involved. Just let him be involved, just set him straight that you have final say

I am sorry to hear that but i think it is to cute. My FH has looked around on here a few times but he was searching for a pic. of my dress. My girls have been telling him funny stories about how it looks to throw him off.

Good Luck

My FH wants nothing to do with the planning. He only wanted to plan the honeymoon and bachelor party. I am happy though. It makes things easier for me. I ask his opinion but he always agrees. I don't think he even listens to me when I ask. Less fights that way

I hear ya....

Him having an opinion about everything is frustrating, and causing tension. If he was a little less involved, it would be easier.

It is supposed to be my day! I think I should just let him walk down the aisle!!!!

Re: My Fiance has taken over!

I originally asked my FW to plan the wedding cause I was swamped with a major work project. Frankly, not much was getting done. Now i've taken over and things are moving along well. Got the place booked on my own. Now working on other stuff.

Best thing about this post is my FW is laying on the couch watching me type this. She just flipped me the bird.

Ahhhh love.

EDIT: On a side note... there are certain things she will have to plan on her own that she is into... flowers, dress, BM dresses, favors, invites. LOL she just told me she aint doing invites so I guess I gotta handle that now. Good thing too... i can't do all this on my own.

Hey Dj.. Nice job on the Swan Club - Outside in May will be great !!!!

I'm thinking of taking over Flowers too....

and the music is all me.

Re: My Fiance has taken over!

My girl is really into flowers so that is something she will be motivated to do. But she even said it herself yesterday... 'she is a lazy arse'.

As far as the DJ goes.... thats something that really pains me. Ive been DJing for twelve years... yet I gotta pay somebody to DJ my wedding when I know in the back of my mind I probably could do a better job myself. Well what can you do I suppose.

Yeah Swan Club was nice. That was the only place we saw... but they gave us a good price and guaranteed us the ceremony space even though we are a very small party (50 people). They originally told us we couldn't book the ceremony space because they had to give preference to their larger 75-200 parties. But they went through their book and found us a date that already had two parties booked that weren't using the space so we could have it. We said the hell with it and took the deal.

I wish I could say that! I'm pretty much the only one planning this wedding!

Re: My Fiance has taken over!

My FI and I have been involved so far in all the decisions. And we just started and have many more vendors to check but so far we've been very supportive of each other. The only thing he said he will leave to me is the Flowers vendors. It makes the planning more fun.
I'm quite sure there will be many other small details that I will have to tend to but so far with his involvement with the major decisions, I'm happy.

My hubby was the same way--sooo involved in the wedding I wanted to kill him!!! But I am soooo grateful b/c he did help me with every aspect of it down to tying the little ribbons on the placecards.

BTW--like the pic of you two!!
