My first fitting....

My first fitting....

Well tonight was my first fitting, and today ...with 8 weeks to the day.... I BOUGHT A NEW DRESS!
Yep, my dress didnt fit, and they didnt think they could make it fit( too small) so I had a nervous breakdown in the salon ( thank you god for Renate's ..they are truly the sweetest people in the world) and I bought a new dress...they were nice enough to sell me the one off the rack , and they are having a sample sale on Sunday and Monday and are even going to try to SELL my old dress for me, I will get the cash. I would lose about $200 if they sell it, if not, Im out a LOT more.

Its a long story, but I cant believe I changed my dress with 8 weeks to go.

I would love to say this was meant to be ( in a way it may have been, the style # of my new dress is 311 ( my wedding date) , How weird is that) BUT, its an OK dress, it looks better and Im so stressed at this point, I just wanna feel comfortable.

I hate to say that I dont think unless I was a size 6 I could look good in a wedding dress, thats the truth, so Im dealing with it.

So...thats my first fitting story...LOL

Oh MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!! I cant believe this!!!!!!!

What a crazy turn of events but all I have to say is that as long as you are HAPPY thats all that matters!!!! NOT YOUR SIZE!

But luckily you dealt with an amazingly sweet bridal shop!

Donna i cannot believe what you are saying about yourself!!! of COURSE you're going to be beautiful!!!

i'm glad everything worked out for you in the end...you really lucked out with wear you got your dress!

i'm sorry you had this experience, but at least now you have a dress you fit in! that's most important!!!

Its Private Label By G...I'm afraid to post it, Im afraid of bad luck. My BM who was there told me it was bad luck I showed pics of my 1st dress , and thats why this happened...Stupid I know, but Im losing it so I'm scared...lol

I'm soooooo happy that you have a dress now! So start being happy...it's not the dress that matters it's the vows that are the most important thing. Sounds like you bridal salon is really fabulous! soooo.....lets see the new dress!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, apparently there are lots of superstitions floating around...my MOH would NOT let me take pictures of me in my dress. she said it was bad luck for for me to show people me in the dress before the wedding...hmmmm.....was wondering if I should have gone dress shopping all by myself?!?

FYI: If it was bad luck to to take pictures of yourself in your wedding dress or for anyone to see pics of you in your wedding dress, then I don't think there'd even be an LIWeddings.com cause NONE of us would be here getting married! lol.

I think that it was really nice of the salon to help you out that way, and what an amazing coincidence that the style # of your dress is your wedding date. You will look beautiful!!!!

Same thing happened with me. I bought my dress incredibly early with intentions of LOSING weight and what happened? I gained a lot and the dress didn't fit me and the seamstress said it just wasn't possible. So, I got a new dress. The new one's really pretty though.

Donna, you have not been having a good week! Please keep in mind that you will look GORGEOUS that day regardless of what you're wearing because a) you are beautiful! and b) you are going to be absolutely GLOWING because you are marrying the love of your life. I know all these details and mishaps along the way can stress you but keep coming back to why you're doing this in the first place and it'll all be ok again.

what a great RAVE for the salon! we've all heard too many stories about how insensitive and awful some salons have been. CONGRATS on your new gown! i think it is all meant o be just like it has happened and you'll glow in your dress on your day!!!!
