******My First QOTD****** 3/30/09

Hey Ladies... I figure I should post this now so you have it bright and early for the Manic Monday. Please forgive me if I repeat any previous questions. Tonight FH and I went RH shopping and came home sappy. We started going through old pictures, mementos and keepsakes. I know most of us keep matchbooks, dried flowers, movie or theater stubs to scrapbook, etc. SO... it gave me this thought for a QOTD.


What is the cutest memento?
Most romantic memento?
Strangest memento you have kept since you and FH have been together? And Why?

So... I have a photo box full of ticket stubs, autographs, a few diff tissue flowers (aawwww) FH made for me. All sentenmental, all sweet. However, the strangest memento we have together is a hoot. While on vacay in Colorado, we went to visit a Wolf Conservatory. We howled with them, took pics of them and actually socialized with 4 wolves. While in their enclosure...an 8 mo old pup stole my Knit GAP hat off of my head. She ran away with it and 2 other wolves played tug of war with it....it was totally shredded. The guide recovered a piece of my hat and gave it to me as a souvenir. That is the strangest thing I have. But I absolutely couldn't put a price tag on that memory.

cutest and most romantic would be the scrapbook i made for us. i started it about 2 1/2 yrs ago and it goes all the way back to our first christmas/new years together. i add to it every christmas and give it to fh as a gift. we both love looking back at that stuff.

as for the strangest thing, i cant think right now. lol

Well again, after 9 years of history, there are A LOT of momentos.

I have a scrapbook from when we started dating. 9 years worth of pictures, matchbooks, movie stubs, concert stubs, vacations, etc. Not to mention, I keep EVERYTHING.

The day after our first date, he sent me a virtual bouquet of roses via email. I have a copy of it printed out.

I have a golden dipped rose that FH gave me when we first started dating and I was sick. He surprised me with it.

I even have all of our emails and IM conversations printed out from the 4 years that I was away at college.

The strangest would definitely be a napkin. On our second date, at the end of the night, we went to an Italian dessert cafe. Well they were promoting a special drink and had special cocktail napkins for it. The drink was called 'The hairy cherry' So I have a napkin that's over 9 years old with a picture of a cherry with hair on it! Needless to say, with FH's sense of humor, that made for a very interesting second date conversation

The most sentimental would have to be I wrote FH a letter everyday he was in the hospital and not concious and/or not responding. It is in a marble notebook that I decorated and gave to him when he was released from the hospital so he didn't miss anything while he was 'away'. I told him how he was doing, what doctors said, what was going on in the world, and what was going on with people close to us. He really loved it and has read it. I read it once in a while too but usually start crying and then can't after the first few letters. (it was really theraputic for me too)

The funniest has to be this bottle of beer we bought while in Mexico and the place we were at replaced the Dos XX's lable with a pic of us wearing these HUGE sombraro's.

I don't know what the most romantic would be? I guess petals from the first rose he ever gave me even though I am sure thats a common one.

Am I the only one that hasn't kept a thing I am really not very creative. Maybe I should start now!

Oh wait, I actually have a stuffed dog that FH got me before we even started dating. We still keep him on our bed to this day. I guess that counts!

after 9 years you can not imagine the amount of stuff i have saved. i have every card, every gift bag & gift box. every ticket stub. i also saved 1 flower from every dozen FH ever gave me. i recently mushed them all together & put them into a jar.

the strangest item i have is a piece of pajama from the first pair i bought him.

i totally forgot about something:
we had only been together from 3 months & FH & i had plans to get together one night before i was going away with my family. but it turned out that his best friend was leaving for the marines the next day so FH decided to do something with him instead. he felt bad so he e-mailed me a letter saying he was sorry & such. i printed it out & its in my wallet ever since.

i made a scapbooks of everything ive saved so thats like the mother or all momentos! lololol

i saved the big bow and huge styrofoam flower he decorated my car with when he was trying to get me to go out with him

Unfortunately due to moving a few times I had to discard a lot of the momentos.

Last year FH was away for a month and we wrote each other letters every day, even though we talked on the phone. I still have those letters.

The cutest memento.. The card he gave for my birthday the first year we were going out. He signed the card using his first and last name....

Most romantic memento? An engagement ring he made for me out of a Dunkin Donuts napkin. We were only going out for a year and he said he knew he was going to marry me).

Strangest memento you have kept since you and FH have been together? A empty tube of his Cherry Chapstick ( I have no idea why)

I LOVE my oragami roses that he made for me for our first vday gift.

The strangest... umm.. nothing really

What is the cutest memento? would have to be a card fh wrote me asking me to be his girl. photos and all the sporst events we went to.
Most romantic memento? i saved rose petals from everyflower he gave me.
Strangest memento you have kept since you and FH have been together? And Why? fh had a pair of underwear that r red and i loved them so i have them in my drawer, don't ask me y cuz i have no idea.

the cutest momento is stuffed 'snuggle bear' - the bear from the snuggle commercials

most romantic is a scrapbook he made for our 1 year anniversary

strangest.. hmm.. i guess some of the momentos i've kept have been weird.. like a crown from medieval times lol

cutest- hmmm..the certificates that we got when we climbed the fire island lighthouse is one cute thing to me. the other cute thing is his first gift to me which was a picture of us framed and it was the two of us when we were at my really good friend's wedding where we realized that we just needed to be together...
.wait that might be most romantic..I also dried out my bo-k from that wedding because it has meaning obviously.
Strangest..a card he got for me that has pictures of sushi on it because he thinks I am weird to like sushi..

before FH i have never recv flowers for anything...so on our 'one month' anniv he gave me four flowes (one for each week of the month--so dorky i know hehehe) and I still have them saved!!!

i have eveything saved from the night of our engagement as welll...lol

a scrapbook from cancun..the cozumel and engagement ones are awaiting me heheh

and i dont know for the other one....i have a pirates hat and straw from margerhitaville in cozumel from a very hysterical slightly typsy afternoon....

The irony is that I'm a pack rat!!

cutest... i kept the tickets to our first trip together and all the tickets for each main attraction we went

romantic...i kept the tickets of the butterfly garden when he proposed

weird...i box of peeps he gave me like 2 years ago that i haven't eaten and will not eat because they look to cute

sweetest - i dried teh dozen roses that FH proposed to me with and i have them in a vase

strangest - i will have to think about this. to be honest though, after the first year (when i realized this was a serious LONG TERM relationship, i stopped saving stuff). whoops! he definately saves more than me though!! i buoght him a memory box and told him that he could save whatever he wanted as long as it fit in that box. he just laughed at me and did this: the box is still in his room...empty....with all his mementos stored away. haha

i have sooo much stuff!!! FH bought me a really nice memory box one year and i have everything in there.
my favorite keepsake is the drink stirrer from the rainbow room from when he proposed.

I would have to say the cutest momento I have gotten from FH was a mini police shield that is given to Police officer's wives or family members. It is in a leather case and says officer's wife...he gave it to me way before he proposed, so it was signs of things to come.

The most romantic was this past Valentine's Day....he was working that night, but I had planned on staying over his house, so we could spend some quality time for VDay. I got there before he got home. I called and let him know I was at his house and he says BTW your VDay card is in the closet next to my bed.....When I opened the closet there sitting in this little box with a bow on top, were these beautiful earrings and probably the most romantic card he has ever given me. FH only loves to give out cards that make you laugh, so when I saw the card, I was like body snatchers have taken my FH hostage!!

I don't have any strange momentos.....
