Hey Ladies... I figure I should post this now so you have it bright and early for the Manic Monday. Please forgive me if I repeat any previous questions. Tonight FH and I went RH shopping and came home sappy. We started going through old pictures, mementos and keepsakes. I know most of us keep matchbooks, dried flowers, movie or theater stubs to scrapbook, etc. SO... it gave me this thought for a QOTD.
What is the cutest memento? Most romantic memento? Strangest memento you have kept since you and FH have been together? And Why?
So... I have a photo box full of ticket stubs, autographs, a few diff tissue flowers (aawwww) FH made for me. All sentenmental, all sweet. However, the strangest memento we have together is a hoot. While on vacay in Colorado, we went to visit a Wolf Conservatory. We howled with them, took pics of them and actually socialized with 4 wolves. While in their enclosure...an 8 mo old pup stole my Knit GAP hat off of my head. She ran away with it and 2 other wolves played tug of war with it....it was totally shredded. The guide recovered a piece of my hat and gave it to me as a souvenir. That is the strangest thing I have. But I absolutely couldn't put a price tag on that memory.

The sweetest would probably be this poem that FH wrote (and by wrote I mean copied lol) for me when I was having a hard time finding an internship in college. I applied to like 50 publishing internships and hadn't heard back from any. So FH made me this frame with a poem about persistence and then wrote a little note about how much he loved me. I still have it on my dresser. The day after he gave it to me, I got a job working for a publishing company! I ended up hating it, but still--I like to think FH's poem worked for me!
The most romantic would be a card that he gave me for Valentine's Day...two years ago? On the outside it has a puppy and it says 'If I tell you I love you...' on the inside it says 'can I keep you forever?' FH wanted to propose right after I graduated from college, but I said I wasn't ready. This was his way of reminding me that he was
Weirdest...the movie ticket stub from our first date? Or a ticket stub from the Chinatown bus I took every week when he was in school in Philly and I was in school in NYC.

Am I the only one that hasn't kept a thing I am really not very creative. Maybe I should start now!
Oh wait, I actually have a stuffed dog that FH got me before we even started dating. We still keep him on our bed to this day. I guess that counts!
LMFAO. I was just wondering the same thing!! I Have nothing!!
The irony is that I'm a pack rat!!
I'm with you girls! I have all the cards if has given me, but that's it!

The most sentimental would have to be I wrote FH a letter everyday he was in the hospital and not concious and/or not responding. It is in a marble notebook that I decorated and gave to him when he was released from the hospital so he didn't miss anything while he was 'away'. I told him how he was doing, what doctors said, what was going on in the world, and what was going on with people close to us. He really loved it and has read it. I read it once in a while too but usually start crying and then can't after the first few letters. (it was really theraputic for me too)
The funniest has to be this bottle of beer we bought while in Mexico and the place we were at replaced the Dos XX's lable with a pic of us wearing these HUGE sombraro's.
I don't know what the most romantic would be? I guess petals from the first rose he ever gave me even though I am sure thats a common one.
Aaawwww...that was really sweet. I would def always keep that. You made me tear up... And the Dos XX's label...great.LOL

Cutest is a stuffed baby penguin we bought when we went away to Cincinnati for my birthday...we went to the Cinci aquarium, which is actually in Newport, Kentucky (weird I know...the Cinci airport is in Kentucky too lol) so we named the penguin Newport...then later that same day I was so tired that I called him Newton by accident...so FH renamed him Sir Isaac Newton Newport I sleep with him every night.
Most romantic...I have the first email exchange we ever had saved and I have the only card he's ever sent me snail mail as well...that one has smudged ink because he sprayed it with his cologne since he knows I like it... I have some stubs saved from my many flights to see him in Ohio, and I have the business card of the hotel we stayed in the first weekend we met in real life.
ETA: I remembered my strange one! We were at the airport so FH could go back to Ohio...it was the first time we had ever met in person. I was really upset and didn't want him to go. He went to tie his hair back and broke the hair tie. I made him give it to me and I wore it as a ring for months afterwards...he thought I was such a weirdo but it was the only thing of his I had at the time! I still have it but it sits in my jewelry box now

The cutest momento is....my easter bunny he gave me a few years back which i love!!! And my coal that he puts in my stocking every year the most romantic... are his cards. He doesn't like to write in them, but he gets some really sweet ones in which i get a whole lot of XOXO on The strangest was when his family gave me a surprise b-day cake one year and on top was a barbie that looked like me (my nickname is burnette barbie). Looked like me to a tee, even the shoes lol

Great first question.
I think the thing that stands out the most are the speedway ticket/concert ticket stubs.
Possibly the most important would be the many, many 'mood' rings I have. We would get them anytime we went away. For those of you who don't know our proposal story...in a nut shell, the most recent had turned my finger black. I mentioned that to FH about 2 weeks later, there we are on the boardwalk and he tells me he got me a new mood ring. I see the ring box, slap him and call him a dork. Down he drops to one knee, open goes the box and the rest is history.

I guess you would call it romantic. After going out for a couple of years, FH used to suprise me with things in my car. So when I came home after work and parked it at the bus stop, he would put little clues in my car, I would find it and then get another clue and the final clue would be a teddy bear or another nice gesture. I loved those days. I remember one day, I was in the trunk looking for my final clue

we have that same bottle with the pic of us, just no sombreros!!! the funny thing about it was we bought 2 (one for me, one for him) & as we were walking out of the place i dropped mine bc i was sooo drunk & he gave me his
i dont save as much as i used to but i have a few boxes and scrapbooks with the usual stuff my favorite are the notes he wrote me when we were in high school

mine's nothing really interesting. i saved all the little cards that come with the flowers he sent me for Vday or my birthday. and i just recently threw out all the dried roses he first bought me. i know its bad but the dust was killing me.
