Today, yesterday, and now, in hindsight, she realizes that when she blacked out last month (she thought it was a migraine), it was actually another seizure.
She does not have any history of seizures, and the neurologists are doing a battery of tests to hopefully figure out why this is happening all of a sudden. She is not on any new medication (only a blood pressure pill that she's been on for at least a year)...nothing has changed in her diet or lifestyle.....its just strange.
Last month she went to the Dr. because she was losing her hair in circular patterns all over her head and was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. (hair loss disorder- hair falls out VERY quickly, and in clumps - can be stress related.)
Now all of the Drs are wondering if the seizures and alopecia and sleeping problems she's been having are all signs of a bigger problem....
Neuro tests, blood tests, and MRIs are all to follow....
FH is taking things a little strangely....I wonder if he's scared, or if he just doesn't want to worry until there's a diagnosis, or I don't know.... Its just one of those days where I wish I could cheer him up, but its not working!

My mother had a stroke a few years ago and was diagnosed with Seizures. I hope for the best for your FMIL. Give your FH time to deal with this. Sounds like she has a number of things going on that they need to test for. Men don't handle these things like we do and let me tell you - when my mom got sick I changed my whole life to be near her (and it's not like she lived alone). It's a very tough reality check when a parent gets sick - especially if it's potentially serious and unexpected and there is no immediate diagnosis. I hope she'll be okay.
2 important things that are wedding related... please make your photographer is aware that she had this. Flashing lights can bring about a Seizure. Also - if you were planning on some fun lighting from your DJ - cancel the funky lighting... anything that moves or strobes can cause a seizure.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Give FH some space while still being there for him. Men take things differently than us women do.

Thanks so much, ladies
She had 22 vials of blood taken yesterday, numerous ultrasounds for her veins and arteries today, and she has a brain MRI on Fri.
To all the ladies that've shared personal experiences - thank you so much. I will definitely keep you all in mind! All the best to your family members (Moms, MILs, DHs, all of you!)
