MY fmil on weddings...

LOL..on Sunday my mom said, 'times have changed. When I got married, I just smiled and went along with whatever I was told to do and that was it.' She also accused me of trying to 'micromanage' my wedding plans! Who else is supposed to organize everything if not the bride?

last week my aunts (who are only 35) were looking at my wedding binder and were like 'I didn't do any of this stuff when I got married. We just picked a type of flower and the dresses'

I felt like saying 'That is why my wedding will be a lot nicer than yours. ' They all had the same wedding - similiar dresses (bride and BM), white cake with colored flowers, jordan almonds and frames as favors .. etc etc. ALl the same ... Wait to they see what happens when you add personal touches! I know this hard work will pay off, and frankly I want them all to walk in and say 'WOW, she knows what she is doing'

my mom doesn't criticze how I'm doing it, but when i aks for advice, she says, ' I have no idea- grandma did it all'
and made dad laughed at my Fh for comign to david's with me- he was sjut commenting on how times changed & he wasn't really 'allowed' to be involved in weding planning.

and wheni was tryign to word teh invitations, I asker my mom's opinion & ( bothparents paying a lrage part of it, Fh paying the rest- I can only afford little things like my accessoriers) and told her it suposed to come from the hosts- and she 'well, I guess that's you, since you're doing all the planning. '
at least she getting with the times
