I am extremely upset. I was hysterical for hours. My Mom, Dad, and FH all say don't worry because IM prettier blah blah blah but they have to say those things. MY MOH and BP is furious with her and I just don't know what to feel anymore.
I feel like a wedding dress isn't just a dress! I feel like it is sacred and a reflection of who I am as a person. Unique different. IM sad girls IM thinking about RUSH ordering a new dress but then I will loose the $1,200 I already paid
HELP

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
is she the type to do something like this?
its weird if her wedding is 2nd that she would want to get the same dress as you when your wedding is first. I think theres a chance she really forgot what yours looked like. Ive seen wedding dresses and forgot what they look like. Once you see so many dresses many start looking alike

I just typed a long explination and It got erased.
A few weeks ago I had showed her a picture of my gown from a website.
2 days ago she shows up with the same gown. I asked her how she didn't know that it was my dress? She claimed she didn't remember.
I asked her where she purchased t from she told me oh I don't know somehwere online.
Once she told me the price I knew exactly what website b/c no one really sells this gown online.
I said it was blah.com she goes how do you know? I said because that is the website I showed you my dress. SHe still claims it was a mistake.
I know their are always gonna be dress twins but usually dress twins aren't friends/soon-to-be family and having alot of the same guests. 12 weeks apart.
I really don't believe that she doesn't remember it's the same dress you showed her.. I just find it strange.
At least your wedding is first, cause she'll be walking down the aisle with people possibly going 'didn't ___ wear that same dress?'
I'd be upset if one of my friends did this.

Not ONE drop she kept telling me so what if it is tacky that it is tacky on her part not mine. She pretty much said IM sorry if I hurt your feelings but I am NOT getting an new dress so deal with it.

My wedding is first. And YES alot of the same guests will be at BOTH weddings 12 weeks apart.
as long as yours is first it's just going to look like she's copying you so who cares. besides each of you will look different in it and add something different to the dress.

No missing pieces. If the shoe was on the other foot I would have went and picked a new dress. I would not want to wear the same dress as her. I would want to be different my own person.
I searched for months she went to one store and happen to find the one. Maybe it was completely an accident but it seems too coincidental (sp)

I agree, that is way too big of a coincidence. There are SOOOOOOOO many dresses out there, how could she possibly have chosen the same exact dress as you??? It sounds shady if you ask me!

Ok her reaction dosent seem like a 'coincidence' and I cant fathom WHY she would want to have the same dress just 12 weeks after you wear it with the same people BUT i do not think you should worry...you will wear it first she will look like a wierd copy cat

Well at least ur wedding is first so everyone will see you first and it will seem like (which it is apparnt that it is) she is a copycat
Why you would want to copy someone's dress is beyond me! Especially when you are in the same circle of friends.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
how far apart are your weddings?
i'll be honest, half of the guests or more wont realize it believe it or not.
I DEFINITELY cant tell you what every bride wore for all the weddings ive been to. I can remember some, but some weddings, i remember the silhouette but wont remember exactly how much beading they had or where and definitely wont remember every detail.
Its like if i showed you my dress now, and a few weeks from now i asked you to describe my dress, you wont remember exactly and remember every little detail. So some guests wont even know.
Is there anything you can add to your dress to make it more unique? Such as a broach, or any other detail. For my own personal reasons i had work added to my dress, i wanted to have crystals on the bottom front of my dress, so i sat with the lady and came up with a design to do on the bottom. So even those who purchased the same dress as me, its a bit different. You can add details somewhere to change it up a bit

I dunno. I agree with Espo22

I can't imagine ANYBODY wanting the same dress as another person. Especially if you gotta wear it AFTER them. Maybe she did forget. And even after being reminded of yours, she's still just too in love with it now. Maybe it's her dream dress as well as it yours. Who knows.
I know that I personally wanted to stay away from my friend's dress, but I also didn't wanna have to settle. Your wedding day is special. It's a day most girls dream of since childhood. So I definitely wanted the perfect gown that I'd always pictured myself in. I wouldn't want to get one that's only mediocre in my opinion just because somebody else already has it. That's why I found out exactly which dress my friend had BEFORE I went shopping, so that i wouldn't even try it on (so there's no chance of me loving it. lol).

Just tell her she's a tacky bitcch! And don't sweat it, your wedding is first, if your guests remember you wore the dress first, they will be appalled for her!
