Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
I wouldnt sweat it, to be totally honest 2 of my friend wore the same dress 2 weeks apart and I didnt know until AFTER when they were talking about it.Dresses look different on everyone and as much as you will paying attention to the fact that she is wearing the same thing not many people on the outside pay half as much attention as we do.
Dont let it get to you~your wedding is first so her wearing the same thing wont effect you it will effect her.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
That's so frustarting
!!! At least your wedding is first, and I'm sure your friends and BP will let people know that she copied you! This is def a sh**y sitiuation, but I'm sure that you will be able to do things that she will not have at her wedding. Maybe just keep other details of your day a secret do avoid her copying other ideas.

That sux, but I would take it as a compliment.. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! .![]()
I agree with this..take it as a compliment..and since your wedding is first..don't worry to much..she'll look like the idiot!

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
now that i read your wedding is first, you don't have a thing to stress about over this!!! you get to show the dress first and then she will be the one, if anything, too look funny coming out in a dress alot of ppl already saw on you. she'll look like the one to copy so its really her bad. and not your thing to worry about. it would be a totally diff situation, i think, if her wedding was first!seriously if she is actually okay with coming second wearing the same exact dress, thats her deal!
I wouldn't want to be in that position but she doesnt seem worried about being unique and different at all.it seems a little to much of a coincidence to be honest! but like others have said, maybe you should be flattered. you have to really sort of envy someone to do this consciously (thats if it wasn't an accident like she says).

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
Make sure you don't share anymore details with her! You don't want her stealing anything else!
Are you thinking (even though you'll wear it first) you may modify yours to make it slightly different? If you have a pic to post we could help give you suggestions...

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
is it a popular dress? ive seen a few brides on here with the same eve of milady dress (one that i actually loved!!) i think that sometimes a dress is so gorgeous that lots of people are drawn to it.....there is even a girl on LIW with my dress (and i cant wait to see her wear it!
) i also noticed that with a kenneth pool dress as well - quite a few brides wore it - so there are dresses that i guess may be more 'popular' than others....it ***** that you are in the same circle but your wedding is first, so you get to wear it FIRST! i wouldnt stress over it too much, its not worth it - i could see why you are annoyed but no need to let it ruin anything for you

Thank goodness your wedding is first! If it was after her's I would be more concerned. Thats just wrong...like against the girls code of conduct!

Did she seem upset that you guys had the same dress?
ANOTHER great point..
Not ONE drop she kept telling me so what if it is tacky that it is tacky on her part not mine. She pretty much said IM sorry if I hurt your feelings but I am NOT getting an new dress so deal with it.
If your wedding is first and she doesnt care that people see her in the same dress 12 weeks later then who cares. People are gonna think she borrowed ur gown or copied you. I wouldnt let it bother you or change ur mind into ordering another dress.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
Honestly I would be extremely pissed off and tell her so. You picked it first and thats that and i do not buy her excuse...it does not make sense...ok if there were 2 designers who each made 20 dresses in the world, there would be a lot o overlap but seriously...there are sooooo many dresses out there and I am sure there is even more than 1 dream dress for every person..so please.Girls always remember details and I could even tell you what some of the women on Bridezillas from 2 weeks ago wore....
I even felt bad to ask one of the girls on here about her gown and the designer, bc I felt that this is her special dress and she might not be happy to share the info.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
No one is going to know it's the same dress from 3 months before. Even if you loaned her yours, people wouldn't know. Unless it has, like, purple neon or something way outlandish. Actually, if she was shopping at the same time you showed her yours, she might not have remembered where she saw it and just assumed that she ran across it online herself. I can't even remember what dresses I looked at for my sister last Monday, and as my MOH, she didn't remember what my dress looked like except that 'it has lace'.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
She is the one who is the copy cat and she is the one who is going to look silly. Not worth stressing when your wedding is first. It is obvious who copied who!

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
Ok, this is going to be sound very mean but I am just being honest....I would only be upset if I knew she would look better in the dress than me. If she was a beast, and I was the hot one, then whatever.... I would still be annoyed BUT I know everyone would just say that I looked better than her anyway.
But, if I know deep down, that she would look better in it than me (b.c she has a better body or is prettier etc.) then I would either ask her to get a diff. dress or I would get another one.
It ***** that you are in this situation, but you do have time to get a different dress if it really bothers you.

me too.
She's the one who should worry about it, not you.
And honestly I have to say if I went to 2 weddings 3 months apart, I would NOT even notice that the brides wore the same dress. Also the fact that the same dress can look very different on 2 different people.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me
Id be p*ssed too. Thats pretty lame that she did that. You should tell her you think so. And I think its stupid that she said she wasn't going to get another dress. You should tell her it makes her look fat. LOL jk-thats really mean. But its also dumb of her to do that- espeically since your wedding is first. She will be the one to make her self look dumb. So yes you can be upset, but at least you arn't the one who will look bad.Welcome New Vendors
