ya know, i never even asked what would look better on me.... the consultant told me that the dress looked much better in ivory (its a darker ivory) so thats what i went for! ... technically, im sure theres barely anyone here that can wear white for what it was traditionally a symbol for...

hahah true! Also your consultant is a pro she knows what would look best against your skin...mine also suggested ivory for me

Thanks Girls for all of your insight.

I can't quote everyone so i will try to answer every question.

I know chances are no one will remember but I will and that is that part that bothers me. NOT to mention her FH will see her dress at my wedding so dumb. ANd my FH will see her looking all ugly in my gown.

This is going to sound weird and probably not make sense to alot of you but.....

I feel like I have dreamed of this day all my life. I have known exactly what kind of dress I wanted. It took me MONTHS to find my gown.

When I tell you blood, sweat and tears literally went into finding this gown. My handicapped Mother my 2 sons, my 2 nieces my SIL 2B and MOH all traveled tjhrough rain, sleet, snow etc day in and day out for months. We even got food poisoning once from eating at a strange place while dress shopping.

I FINALLY after MONTHS found the dress of my dreams. YES I did make some changes to the gown on top but the BOTTOM is EXACTLY the same.

I feel that the dress is a reflection of who I am as a person. And by wearing the same gown your taking something away from me.

If the shoe was on the other foot I would have canceled my dress and got a new one. I WOULD NEVER wear the same dress as a close friend.

1. Because she is wearing it
2. That dress is no longer unique for me I would need my own dress.

When said friend and I started talking about our weddings I printed a picture of my gown from a random website and showed it too her. I also had given her all of the photos of the gowns I was considering. She asked if I no longer needed them can she have them. I kindly gave them to her and showed her the one I would have gotten had I not found mine. SHe loved the dress but hated the train. She was very specific that she wanted a DETACHABLE train b/c she hated trains. I told her I hated my train but then fell in love with it.

The website was selling a SAMPLE of my gown in Ivory size 12. It said all this information on the print out including the price of $725

Fast Forward 3 weeks later at my nieces Bday we are all sitting around and chatting and she announces that she bought her dress. WHen she reveals the style and number I start laughing and tell her to tell the truth the jokes over.

She said she wasn't kidding and that she purchased it online and didn't know where.

So I said from blha.com and she said how do you know? I said was it Size 12 in Ivory for $725.00 she says Yes.

I said that is the website I showed you she says I don't remember.

She said I fell in love with the train. I sad the train you wouldn't even look at pictures I had of gowns with trains on them b/c you did NOT want a train. And my train weighs 9 pounds.

She claims she went to her FIRST wedding dress shop and the man randomly pulled my gown out.

We argued over it and I said when you found the gown you should have extended me a curteousy call and said hey what is dress so we don't get the same one. She didn't feel that was nessacary.

I have 2 cousins and a friend all getting married within a year and I checked with them all FIRST.

The dress is popular I suppose. Its a Jasmine Couture and I have seen 2 brides online with it. I have only seen it in 2 Bridal stores though.

I know I have the upper hand but I still feel betrayed.

Soory so long Thanks for everything girls!

I really think you ned to reword some of this and actually say it to her- especially the beginning part. She needs to know how much it hurts you that she did this. And I think you wont feel better about it till she knows.

The actual sillohette is different but the beeding is all the same still.

I also have the upper hand that my gown is NEW and it is WHITE

Hers is an IVORY SAMPLE from the rack.

I know you're bitter over this, but I think you went down the wrongggg road by posting something like this on this site... where are all the ivory (like myself) and all the sample girls at? Guess mine isnt as nice b/c i CHOSE ivory... mine will look nice n dirty... the way i like it

give her a break- she is trying to make herself feel better because of this girl. I doubt she meant it that way. Just pointing out the differences.

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me

SInce your wedding is first, at your friends wedding people wouldn't say why do they have the same dress, the would say isn't that Brat23's dress? So now it just looks as your friend copying you and not you copying your friend. If you really want a new dress, you could always put the old dress for sale online. Whatever you decide, make sure you enjoy your day!!

Re: My Friend Bought the SAME DRESS as me

Honestly, Your wedding is first so who cares. You also have to think about this - unless you guys are the same height the same hair color, the same body - the dress will look different anyway! No worries - your wedding is first and if she does not care about wearing the sma e dress 12 weeks later why should you. I can easily say that if my weddig was first and she bought the same dress as me I would turn it in to a friendly joke... if it was 2nd I would have 12 weeks to make myself look different. PS dont go around telling everyone she has the same dress.
