I don't know if any of you watch the news but a drunk/ DUI driver was being pursued by the police in Farmingdale (out of their jurisdiction mind you through a residential area) and the driver lost control and crashed through his house killing him while he was watching TV in his living room. My friend was downstairs in the basement at the time and he basically watched his father die when he came upstairs. He was pinned under the car from 2:35 pm until around 11:15 pm last night.
He's the drummer from my FI band and he's a very good friend. I feel terrible for him. He's not even allowed back there right now. They evacuated the house because they were afraid it would collapse when they pulled the car out. I'm very nervous for him. He was VERY close with his father and he does not get along with his mother.
Its really a very scary and terrible tragedy. This year has been the WORST year of my entire life and the lives of those around me with the exception of getting engaged.
You all have been so great about support and prayers. I'm asking for them now for Brian and his father's soul. Its a terrible way to die. He was retiring in June.

I do watch the news, and read newsday everyday.
I saw this story, and it is sooo sad, my prayers go out to your friend and his father.

How tragic and traumatic!!!!!!! I can't imagine!!!!!!!!!!! I hope your friend has a great support system and that he gets professional help as well.

My heart breaks for these people. As someone who lost their father suddenly, you can never be prepared for it.
Let this be a lesson to us, let the people in your life know you love them and live each day to the fullest!

He's actually staying with his mom for a bit and then he's going to sell the house and Lorraine and he are going to get an apt. Its all kinda up i nthe air right now. They didn't even pull Mr Calhoun out until around 11:15 last night. They were afraid the house was going to collapse
