my gown is in.....earlier than expected!

Holy cow, talk about shock...my gown wasn't supposed to be in until at least January. Well, I got a phone call today that it has come in and I need to pick it up!! My wedding is not until August. I am worried that it will turn yellow over the next year. If I keep it in a dry place in a zippered plastic garment bag, will it be okay?? Thanks for your help... melissa :)

When did you order it??

Honestly, I would do all that I could to see to it that the store keeps it for you. Once it leaves their hands they are no longer responsible for it. If they told you January, they should at least keep it until then. These stores know their vendors and should anticipate how long a gown will really take to come in. Sometimes they will tell you you HAVE to order ASAP just as a sales tactic. They want to scare you into buying a dress from them NOW, so they tell you have no more time to look around. Some stores do that, and just wait months before they really order your gown because THEY don't have the space to hold early arrival gowns either! I would tell them that you were told you had to order a gown since it would take until at LEAST Jan. to come in, and now you want them to hold it until then b/c you are not ready for it. Anyway, just my 2 cents. :-)

When did you order it??

I ordered it in July! The only problem with your suggestion is that I got the gown from Estelle's...not a bridal store or anything. I kinda don't trust them to hold it for me! They have numerous complaints on the BBB so I feel lucky enough that the dress came in! :)
