check this out - they got married in Sicily. . . i am not sure what year but she was born in 1916!
and check out my brother holding me in this pic - holy 80s batman!
My grandma matilde and my grandpa vincenzo - my nonna passed away at 35 when my mom was only 16 we only have about 5 pictures of her!
my parents wedding in 1966, sicily - my mom was only 18 and my dad was 25- they got married in less than three months so they could come to america. . .check out my uncle pasqualino in short pants!
and this last one is my family - way before i was born, i love this pic so much - we have so many pictures of the twin towers, since my parents werent born here they loved taking us to do 'touristy' things so i got to see a lot of stuff that many new yorkers never go to see!

i am so glad that you feel the same way! i love them, i think it may be bc taking a pic was likea huge deal . . .like a once a year event so it makes it special unlike now where i have pictures of every move i make!
its just sad they didnt smile in pictures, but it wasnt 'proper' at the time!

yup i am going to have a table set up with all our grandparents and parents wedding pictures!
all of my grandparents have passed away, and FH's grandfather passed away - so i want a way to honor all of them in a happy way, not a sad way!

That pic of your grandparents was great! You know what would be cool? If you and your FH pose standing in those same positions on your own wedding day (but smiling, not mocking their faces; just standing next to each other like that so anyone who sees the two together will get the connection), and you could find a place in your home to display the two photos near each other.

lol isnt that crazy - yeah we cant remember when she got married, we said 38 or 39 bc my dad was born in 41 and she had another baby girl before him that was two when he was born ( she actually passed away right before my dad was born ) but now that we are thinking of it 22 was practically a spinster then so i cant imagine that she got married that old!
