and today was her funeral. I'm so upset I couldn't make it. We live in North Carolina, and we have absolutely no extra money to get up there, and our cars are older, so we couldn't drive up there. She was 96. We were expecting it since she's been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks. At least the rest of my family made it there. I asked my mom to put flowers on her grave for me. At least she's not in any pain!

I'm so sorry ...
You were there with her in spirit.
It must have been discouraging to not have been able to make it. I'm sorry for your loss.
Light a candle and say a prayer ... tell her goodbye - she'll hear you!

My thoughts are with you
Melissa - I am sorry to hear about your loss. It is not easy to be far away at a time like this. I agree with Cira, light a candle and pray - she will hear you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Also, in time of griving, it always helps me to remember the good times. At with 96 years, I am sure there were plenty of good times!

I am sorry to hear of your loss
Take a moment and go to the church today. Even though you can be there in person, you are there in spirit.

I'm very sorry
It must be so hard for you right now. My sister lives in California and couldn't fly in when our grandmother died. SHe made a phot album/memory book and mailed it to us. It helped her to make it and we loved seeing the pictures. It came weeks after the funeral. Maybe you can frame a nice picture of her for your family. Also...if you want your photgrapher can teke a picture of you on your wedding day looking at a framed picture of her. My friend did this with her great grandmother's picture, and she's so glad she did. My other friend saw it, and did it with a picture of her father a few weeks ago at her wedding (her father passed away about a year ago). She's going to put it in her album. I'll add you and your great granmother to my prayers.
