i mean i'm totally understanding- his father is very ill and he has to fly overseas to see him- i feel for him.....
but now its 2 weeks and I NEED your help ladies to find someone else... I need someone to play while guests are arriving, for the ceremony and for the cocktail hour!
this guy was awesome cause he was a strolling guitar player (he walked around) and he knew EVERYTHING- from classical to bob marley to the beatles....
PLEASE HELP ME>>>
i'm open to other instruments but love the idea of a strolling musican.

we used an acoustic guitarist for our CH. Maybe he can help you out? he was really easy to deal with.

You should really call the one you booked and ask him for recommendations or for him to pull a favor (if he's overseas, at least someone else in his band can help). He's got to have fellow musician friends.

OMG he cannot give you any recommendations for another musician?? That is horrible I am soo sorry to hear that. My DJ is providing the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception....maybe you can get your DJ to do it for you.

he said he is going to call around and call me back, but he is leaving on a plane tomorrow- so i didnt want to leave it all in his hands- i thought you ladies would have some great suggestions- so please keep them coming

Honestly, my biggest advice is save your money! While its a nice touch, I've been to many weddings, including my own, where there is no live music during cocktail hour. Especially if it is somewhere outdoors, people are so busy taking in how pretty everything is and eating, and looking at you - they will not notice if there isn't live music. If your DJ can play music, it will be fine. Good luck an don't stress :)

someone suggested this to me for my cocktail hour, i havent looked into it yet because im not at that point yet.
But they said to call juilliard and you can get great muscians for cheaper because they are students.
and i feel like this is something i will look into because, granted they are students, but if they are in juilliard they must be pretty damn good!!!

You could try L&S Entertainment - they provide the specialty music for the CH at my RH . . . and call me weekly to book.

My FH has a band. All the guys are very professional....most of them teach music. FM me if interested. There is a guitarist or sax player that would work.

I have a friend that is in a 3 piece band, and he can do either acoustic music or jazz music for the hour, his price is reasonable.

I cant remember his name but Pindar Vineyard has an excellent acoustic guitar player every weekend. He is really good, maybe give them a call and I'm sure they can tell you who it is. - hth
