My holiday gift ideas for Xmas 2004

Every year I try and come up with a few new ideas that are affordable, yet cool- and not everywhere.. i've come up with some good ones, so I figured I'd share for those on a budget ... anyone else come up with great ideas this year, please feel free to share.

For dad's brothers, etc- Lands End has a great down vest- under $40- comes in a variety of colors. They also have those all weather moc shoe/clog things.. from $20-40/pair.

Amazon.com has that brand new rolling digital tape measure (you roll it against the wall, and it measures for you totally digitally)- this is $40 (the retail I think is like $65)- i got this for my dad b/c he's a carpenter by trade.

I know baseball hats aren't so cutting edge, but Lids.com is having a buy one get one half off sale... I cleaned up here- and the website has a huge selection for those with out-of-town family members that don't like the NYC teams.

for sisters/moms/friends- cargo has this great daily lip gloss set- it's individual portions of gloss for 30 days- very cute, and only $10- perfect stocking stuffer.

I ordered a gloss for myself too- don't feel bad.. I think the code for a 20% Sephora discount is FF2004... FM MrsTC- she has the PDF of the friends & family sale. I ordered a bunch of stuff and saved $20!
And- there's free shipping after $75

We are BROKE this year due to the wedding shortly after x-mas.

For all of FH's aunts and uncles( they all buy for us)..I bought the cutest tins and will make homemade cookies with the receipes attached( something a little different then say chocolate chip...lol) and at the dollar store I bought these grren and red mason jars and I filled them with hot cocoa and some with flavored coffee etc. They also had chocolate mocah mudslide mix at the $1 store( for the drinkers). It will cost like $4-5 a gift!

I also found at Bed Bath and Beyond these cute fondue makers shaped like a Hersheys Kiss...So cute..for $9.99.

Target has a GREAT dollar section so I bought a cute purse for $8.99 and got a bunch of cute bracelets and hair things for my niece....

Also, dollar stores have nice candle holders....you could make a basket or wrap in nice fabric with a variety of votives!

If you need a great gift for $20, we bought a couple of people projection clocks that show the time and outdoor temperature on the ceiling. I have one for several years now and absolutely love not having to sit up to see a clock in the middle of the night. Best Buy has it. They also have a fancier model for $60 with more information on the display, but I wasn't interested so I didn't look closely at what it had.
