My job really....

My job really....

knows of to P me off.

I hurt my wrist over a year ago at work. I had on going issues with it and on going problems with my job about it. Well it started to get better due to me realizing that there are just somethings I can't do with my right wrist at all anymore and I have to make myself left hand dominant, if not I would have issues all over again.

Thursday I accidentally opened the doors outside my job with my right hand (I'm right hand dominate), and boom- swelling black and blue and sharp pains.

I was out of work until today and my Ortho put me back in a brace (Lucky me). I gave my job the note that says i may return on light duty.. Well now the want to know what light duty is. We went through allllllll of this last year up until Novemeber!!!! They aren't stupid and they know what it means.. No repetitive work with my right hand.

So I tell them my average handle time and my comformance (Little breaks) will be higher. Welllll they have an issue with this.

I gave you my eff'n note. I can't use my right wrist /hand well and I'm doing my best. So I'm giving you the heads up now leave me alone. Seriously' my dr isn't in today and can't write details for them.. They should be happy they have the note.

I'm so pissed. Sorry this was so long I'm just so upset we had so many issues with this last year. Both my dr and their dr both said i can work light duty, but my job still had me do full duty or I'd have problems with my job. Then when i had to go for a follow up with the IME dr hes like u returned full duty and ofcorse i wasn't gonna lie. And he wrote that nothing was wrong with me!!!! Because I returned full duty.. Umm I was pretty much threatened with my job!!

I just don't want this to happen all over again.t

Aww this is horrible! If your dr puts you on light duty this time stick with it. I am not a lawyer, but I work in HR and from what I know about the law workplaces must make accomodations for disabilities (this is considered a disability) unless it causes them undue hardship, which it definitely sounds like the accomodations will not. If they give you a hard time or retaliate against you for it, then honestly you can sue the crap out of them or go to the labor board. However, I should note that your work can request to know specifically what accomodations must be made for you to accomplish your job.
