Sorry this question is late, but we just got back from the surprise weekend trip (FH took me to CT to Foxwoods to see india Arie and John Legend in concert -- awesome!!!)
Okay..so during this weekend, we got to talking about the bridal party and readers and if we are making the right decision with the people we picked....which got me to thinking about this QOTD
***How many readers are you picking? And why did you pick the people you did? Are your readers separate from your bridal party? If you are not choosing readers, what are you doing instead?****
For us, we want to pick our godparents as readers -- since they were there with us for baptism, we thought it would b really meaningful to include them in our ceremony. I also would like to include a few friends. But that still needs to be worked out. We might have more than one reader for the prayer of the faithful.
Okay...so what about you ???

We are having two readers. We will each choose one. For me I am picking my cousin Anthony. We are the same age and being that we have 8 guys and 5 girls (and 4 of those guys are my 2 brothers and my 2 oldest friends) FH really didn't want to add anyone else to the BP. Being that Ant and I were close growing up I wanted to be able to include him in some way. I haven't asked him yet so I don't even know if he'll think it's dumb or not but when I figure out what I would like him to read I will definitely be asking... As for who FH will pick... that is yet to be determined.

we have 3 readers, one aunt, one uncle and my good friend, i picked each of these people because they have done so much for me and continue to support me in whatever i do.

we have two readers we have only picked one so far FH niece
we have 3 readers. first we asked FH 2 sisters because they were the only siblings not in the wedding party. They both declined because they were not comfortable speaking in public. We asked FH nephew who he grew up with he said no also lol. Then we ask the husbands of fh's sisters. The third is my aunt.

We are plannign on having 3 readers and 2 peopole to bring up the gifts. One reader is going to be my best friend's mom (I call her mom-- she has ALWAYS supported me and been there for me). The other 2 readers are somewhat undecided. We also wanted to ask our godmothers but I am not all that close to mine and his has somewhat converted to a Jehovah Witness. We are doubting she will agree to be a reader and are hoping that she will even walk into the church! So I guess we are undecided. FH's aunt and Uncle will be bringing up the gifts (they are my fav family members on his side!)

We will definitely be picking two, maybe three readers. They are not in the BP. One is like a cousin to FH, and the other two might be two good friends of ours that are not in the BP. Or we might have FH's godparents (aunt and uncle) or maybe FH's uncle and my godmother. Not really sure yet.

There will be two readers...and two readings. FH and I are both Catholic so I figured it would only be fair if we picked one reader from my side of the fam. Therefore...I am choosing my oldest first cousin as my reader. I am half italian and that side of the family is HUGE to say the least and we are all extremely tight I am the baby of the first cousins (by at least 10 yrs and there are about 10 of us first cousins) and my oldest 1st cousin and 56 - so, she will be doing the first reading as she is like the 'mom' of all of us lol. I have no idea who Fh will have as a reader though...

i forgot all about bringing the gifts. thsi could be a good way to include some other friends of mine. thanks!

We haven't set up our ceremony yet (we're going to customize since we are interfaith) so I have no idea if this applies to us yet or not.
