****My last QOTD 4/05/09****
***Well ladies...its my last QOTD...I had some fun doing this... thank you Janice for choosing me and everyone for indulging in the questions. I thought I would end it with something that I guess dawned on me tonight, even though I 'knew' it.*******
Have you or FH/FW ever made a relatively big or important decision without consulting eachother first? If so, what was it? How did it turn out?
Let me preface this by saying I always call him or ask him about most everything big or small.
Tonight we went to a Penny Social / Chinese Auction / Card Party type of function...a fundraiser to raise awareness for Autistic children. We're not big gamblers, and of course are saving for the wedding. But...its a charity, so we spent a lil, its close to home for me.
Anyway...I put a couple of tickets in for prizes I really didn't want, but knew my Aunts and cousin wanted. We do this for eachother though. Well...it was his first auction so he was very excited to go...there were actually other men here along with food and alcohol. And I won us a Wii at the last one I was at. I didn't expect to win, b/c neither of us are usually very lucky... but Stu and I racked up tonight.
We won a gym membership, smoothie maker, digital camcorder, 32' LCD HD tv and a basket of men's items incl shirts, sweaters, key chain, wallet - all big names. We were very excited.
BUT... the camcorder was what I put in for my Aunt. Her bday is next month, I know her camcorder just died, we are saving for a wedding, so thought this would be a nice gift that would save us a chunk of change. So, I gave it to her without letting him know my interntions. (PS - we already have a DV camcorder). In my defense, he was running around and wasn't with me the whole night and he wasn't really aware that we do this for eachother. But it dawned on me later that I prob should have discussed it with him initially... it was his first auction. I'm so used to calling my own shots when he's not around, I felt like I was taking candy from him. He got over it...but I know I won't do that again.![]()
