My latest obsession - help?! - updated with solution at bottom per SewDeb

Original post by akaMrsT

Help! I really want this look minus the flowers (silk tulle veil) but I also want to wear a tiara and blusher. How can it be done?

Anyone do this? Have pics?

KD, I think this is close to what you want...tiara and veil over the face and it's long and flowy...beautiful!

Sorry if I'm too late!

This looks more like bridal illusion. Silk tulle (Hansson's) just lays on top of the hair style - like a 'sock' according to Anne at Crowning Glory veils.

This is Hansson's

this veil is crowning glory - per Ann

sorry the pic is so small. It's what Ann sent me by e-mail. She uses Crowning Glory silk tulle - stiffer than Hansson's and crowning glory can hold up to edging and scattered crsytals.

Hansson's silk tulle is super delicate and cannot handle edging.

I want that type of veil also! I didn't realize it would cause so many problems. I want a blusher too! What is the difference between this kind of veil and a regular veil? Is it that it is silk? Who do you go to to get these veils...i don't want to get it from my bridal salon- Klienfelds..,it will be an arm and a leg. Who is this girl SewDeb you ladies are refering to? Is she resonable? THANKS!!

Deb lives in North Carolina www.sewdeb.com and she makes veils. She will make it from whatever you want. For a silk veil she uses either of two types of silk --- Hansson's silk tulle (very delicate) or Crowning Glory silk tulle - similar to bridal illusion but it's silk. She gets the material from her two suppliers in London - where most US bridal shops probably get their silk tulle as well.

Deb quoted me between $45 - $55 to make a two tier elbow length silk veil. This does not include the fabric which is about $45 per meter. I would only need about 1 meter ot 1.25. It's sold in quarter meters - in British Pounds Sterling.

They take credit cards so it's not a big issue with conversion.

Wow, OK, you're obviously looking at particular fabric (tulle in this case)...I was innocently looking at the 'overall look'.

Good luck in your search!

Hey, how did it go with the ribbon?
