My little update

about my son, He went to the doctor with my SIL and MIL. and took xrays they think he just pulled something. BUT he has to use the elevator in school, till his next appointment. Which is fine with me. So, I take him early to school today so I can catch his teacher and speak with her and give her the doctors note saying he has to use the elevator. I also spoke with the principal. I was informed that they do not escort children up and down the elevator. So, bottom line is my son has to miss school, even tough he is healthy to go to school. He was down in the lobby of the school while I talked to his teacher and principal. For one week he gets to stay home. The teacher is giving me his schoolwork and homework, but they have enough people and enough money in that school, plus there is a parent coordinator who can help out. I am so right now. To put it as nicely as I can. They siad that if it is more then a week, we are talking homeschooling. But, there are other schools in the district that allow children to use the elevator. Sorry so long but right now I have so much Sh*t on my mind that I wanted to vent. Also, my boss who promised me a raise I am still waiting to see it. I am so sick of everything

That's really messed up. I really don't know why they would do that. Maybe it'll be a blessing in disguise to have your son home? Are you home? I don't know

I work fulltime, I have a nanny so him staying home is not bad. EXCEPT, that I have my younger one who goes to school and the nanny takes him. So regardless he would have to walk up to school and turn around and go home. Its like the school is punishing him. PLUS I lie on the second floor so he is not aloud to walk up and down except once a day.

WHAT to do?

Then I was thinking of halloween and he can not even go door to door cause there are tons of stairs by us to get just to the front doors. I have to cancel completely my halloween party cause of all this sh*t.

I didnt' catch the beginning of this, but I am sorry to hear about this.
I remember in elemntary school, they always let kids with broken legs & feet &stuff use the elevator.I think they let one other student go to help carry books. I guess they didn't have the staff to spare either.

But there are a lot more rules about things now.

the district office knows me about other things. This is not my first problem with the school. And as you might know from reading the paper it is not easy to transfer students into another school unless it is for safety realted. Even tough I have a good reason. I am at the brink of just saying I moved and use a cousins address. But itis a hassle. The worst part of this crap is I am on every single commitee that the school has and I know how this stuff works here. AND tonight I have a leadership meeting at the school go figure

Ok, Im confused... your sons school has an elevator but a child who needs it cant use it??? I think Im missing something there.

No, you got it right. Go figure. I had heard from a teacher last year in that school that the principal doesnt even let the teachers use it. She was pregnant and was not aloud to walk up stairs and the principal was giving her a hard time all around just to get the key to use it. With also a doctors note

The school board agrees with that???? is it a private school? If not do the tax payers who PAID for the elevator to be installed know its sitting there not for the people its intended for??

Sounds like the principal has a stick up his a$$. Hopefully he'll tragically trip someday, break something and be DENIED the use of the elevator!!
