My Mini-Review of the Sand Castle Catering Hall in Franklin Square, Nassau!

My Mini-Review of the Sand Castle Catering Hall in Franklin Square, Nassau!

Today was wonderful! My apt was at 3pm and we didn’t leave until 430! It was the longest, but most enjoyable RH tour I have had yet! I figured that to help out everyone else searching for a RH I would give a little recap of my day!

We will start with that the day would be like for the guests! I reference pictures from their website so I would totally check it out while reading the review. There is only one ceremony held at a time at this RH, which is such a great great plus!!

Starting with about 30 min before the ceremony the guests will be welcomed with champagne, the full bar and hot snacks. If someone is running late, this portion can be extended to “stall” if needed. Instead of this being held in the lobby, like I’ve seen with other RHs, there is a separate room on the first floor! It’s a beautiful room with sofa’s and two bars. I thought of it like an old school smoking room. I’m going to have a fall wedding and I think this room, with its deep brown tones is just so perfect!
Next is the ceremony, with a choice of either on the veranda or out in the gardens. You walk up the stairs (or take the elevator) to the second floor for this part. (Ceremony fee is $500 for those who want the ceremony at the hall). I do need to ask them if the ceremony can be held in the ball room in case of heavy rains (one of the pictures on the website shows the ceremony in the main ballroom). The veranda is beautiful with a canopy in case of rain, and if it’s a little cold, there are heating lamps built into the overhead lights. The gardens are also beautiful, with a waterfall and amazing trees/flowers. Both would be a beautiful place to have the ceremony. The only downside is that the garden is close to the street and parking lot, but I think when it is all decorated it wont even matter.
Then is the cocktail hour, which is in a room devoted specifically to it. This room, like the hospitality room, has very warm tones and I can just see being amazing during the fall! If you look at the pictures on the website, you will see a huge boat in the middle of the room…and this is where they put the sushi/raw bar/seafood display….which is INCLUDED! It is constantly replenished and it is also where the free ice sculpture is located! There is also a martini bar that comes from the ceiling! That is $500 extra, but to me it looks totally worth it! In addition to the ice sculpture, because we are having an Oct wedding, they are throwing in pumpkin carvings around the stations. It really sounds amazing!
Then….if you weren’t filled to the brim with food already, you move downstairs, back to the main floor, to the ballroom. It is a huge space, pretty much like a big rectangle. The dais where the bride and groom sit is actually a revolving floor and we make our “entrance” by standing “backstage” and then revolving around. Mind you, that backstage area is also a huge suite for the bride and groom! I didn’t mention this, but the groom gets his own suite and the bridal suite is HUGE! Each table gets their own waiter, who also brings them drinks!
There is also a Venetian hour (included!), but the chocolate fountain is extra. I’m not sure how much extra because we are having our cake made by my aunt, so they are throwing in the fountain for free. I forgot to ask exactly where the Venetian hour would be held, but I’m hoping we can do it upstairs in the CH space!
The menu is huge and there are so many options!!
I could write so much more, but I need to get into the shower and I have work tomorrow….please feel free to FM me if you want to know our quote or if you have any questions.

The V hour is in the same room as the reception. My MOH had her wedding there. For the V hour they have it right on the dance floor.
