My mom keeps opening the responses!

Ok, so we were traditional and had my parents' names and address on the response envelopes (I stll live with them). I figured my mother would save them for me to open, but I came home from work yesterday to see our first 2 responses opened on the kitchen table....she insists since they are addressed to her and my dad she has to open them! She is cracking me up

awww ask her to let you open them OR to satisfy her open them together!

tell her that it is the same thing as opening your christmas presents.

Same here!

Well my mother is hosting the wedding and the responses go back to her so she has every right to open them. I dont live with her so I cannot expect for her to wait until I visit for her to open them. I am not happy about it for a few reasons.

1) I want to be there when they are opened to read the notes.

2) She loses things.

3) If people send checks, I do not want her to know what people give to us as gifts. It isnt her business.

To rectify #2, I am giving her a check list and a file box to sort all of the response cards and place them in her dining room to leave as little room for error as possible. Once the invites go out, I will call her EVERY DAY to find out who is coming or not coming. If I dont let her do this, I'll never hear the end of it and to be honest, it isnt worth the fight.

My mom is so going to open every single response.

but in her defense, I'm sure she'll put them in a little shoebox so that I can see them too.

My mom would let me open them, she's good like that.
