my new makeup after getting lessons how to apply (pics)

Original post by jteach711

So yesterday I spent a few hundred dollars on makeup, which I have NEVER done. and the makeup artist taught me how to apply. I was so excited to wake up this morning and try my new skills with all my new beautiful makeup.
What do you think? Be easy it was my first time

Wow, I really have a complex now w/ my skin. I never thought it was that bad, but people keep commenting on how I need better foundation, so I guess its not as good as I thought

Your complexion isnt bad at all its just not blended into your skin well and it just doesn't look right.

OH NOOOOO please dont feel like that...its not about how your skin looks, its that the color of the foundation is a little too light for the darker eye colors...something just a little bit darker to and i mean just a little bit darker not by much to blend with the darker colors of your eyes

Thanks Denise. You know us girls, we are so critical of ourselves. I have never worn foundation or atleast done it myself so I have no clue

I like it Jess.

Looking at your skin, I don't think you need 'foundation'..... and, since you don't normally wear it, right? might I suggest what I use. I use Bobby Brown tinted moisturizer. I use a medium tint, not sure if you would be light or medium, you can try it in the store..... it's a littly pricey... $40 but it lasts me several months.

I love it. It's light, and blends really well.

I used to get it at Sak's at Whitman.

That sounds good Amanda but I am so nervous cause I have sensitive skin. Is it easy on the skin?

im bad with foundation too, i hate wearing it...this is why i go tanning now so i dont have to wear any, i feel your pain. Thats why im telling you this benefit concealer stick is amazing...i dont even use the stick directly on my face, i put a little on my finger and put it on only some areas...any pimples i might have, right under my nose or wherever i have any red spots and then my eyes.

I don't have overly sensitive skin, but, I don't have skin that is not sensitive, if that makes sense. It does not bother my skin, but, that does not mean it won't bother yours. If you decide to get it, ask them.... or maybe they offer samples!

i agree with denise also- your eye make-up is perfect-- i am not really good at make-up- so I started using bare minerals- its really easy to use and looks really even no matter what I do. i swear i dont work for them lol but i should be getting a commission for all the people i have sold it too lol

me too!!! I mentioned it on here when I got it done a couple of weeks ago. She mentioned she tried it and didnt like the way it looked though.

Very nice Jess!!!!

Your eyes look awesome!!! Pinks/purples really bring out blue/green eyes!!!

As for the foundation...it could also be the flash from the camera. There are lots of formulas that are not 'photo friendly'. Also....if the foundation has spf that can also make a person's face appear whiter. I'm sure the person who sold you the make-up matched you with a color that is your true match.

yeah that is true, it might be the flash...alot of times my make up will look good in person but in pics not that great. Thats why its important to have good make up for pics on your wedding day.

i think you did a great job.
what i find is usually it's a combination of different brands/types that suits us the best. it's just a lot of trial and error unfortunately and can get .

right now i'm hooked on bare escentuals foundation and eyeliner, chanel bronzer, lorac eyeshadow, and chanel mascara. don't forget the mark lipgloss!

but i'm thinking i need to throw something new into the mix soon.......
