My not make our minimum

My not make our minimum

I am so nervous! Today is our RSVP date. I don't think we will make our minimum.

I have to start calling people to send their response cards.

Anyone else in this situation?

well ya know you can count your venders meals as part of your total!!
So you won't have to pay extra for them to eat

I have to say, about 30% of people did not respond by the rsvp date. I gave it another week b/c my rsvp date was a month before the wedding. Then I had my mother and MIL start calling people and whoever did not return calls 3 days before the final count we didnt even bother calling anymore.

Sorry to hear that. That just might happen to us at this point.

I just don't want the room to look empty! Of course it is such a waste of money on top of that.

I am going to ask them about that. I asked them a year ago they said we can do this.

I am not making my minimum either. We are 4 people short. More people said 'no' then we thought would.

We aren't meeting our minimum by a bunch. (We knew this would happen.) We negotiated for some extras and upgrades so it wouldn't feel like TOO much of a waste of money.

We actually did end up meeting our minimum, but what had me PO'd was that 10 people did not come and only 2 of them called to say why. Two others came to the Church, I saw them and they did not come to the reception even after they responded they would be there. It happens. I dont know what happened with the others, but I think its extremely rude to not even call to apologize for not being able to come after they said they would.

We invited 255 and 171 people (that includes vendors) are coming.

I understand! We had two couples who rsvped that they were coming and didn't show on the day of the wedding. One of them has called us an apologized--they got lost and arrived at the reception at 10:30 pm and were too embarassed to come in, but the other couple we haven't heard a single word from. I was more concerned that everything was okay with both couples than being pissed off.

We did not make our minimum and like everyone else had to call all of the outstanding rsvps. Our banquet manager said that almost every bride they had talked to over the last six or seven months has had problems with making minimums and getting guests to rsvp. I don't know if this should make anyone feel better, but its good to know.

We ran into this problem. We invited 270 people. We promised 180 -- we figured no problem! When our rsvp date arrived we had 80 people to call. We split it up...my mom called our relatives, his parents called theirs and we called our friends. We ran short anyway. We had 156 yesses. We called our vendor to renegotiate. It was a mess...but we finally worked things out. You will be surprised how many of your guests that didnt respond are coming...they are just very lax about sending them back! Good luck!

171 is a good number. You can probably get a chance to talk to most of them that day.

I just hope that when the day comes, these issues won't be on my mind. I have to remember the important stuff-our marriage, and our lives together, and knowing the our closest friends and family will DEFINITELY be there. That's what counts.

We didn't make ours by about 15 people. I was upset at first, but now I'm over it!

We didn't get all of our rsvps by the exact date, in fact we just got another yes 2 days ago!!! Less than 2 weeks before the wedding!!

If you are under by a lot talk to your place about throwing some extra things in. Over the eyars quite a few girls have done this successfully.

Did you talk to anyone at CB about what they were going to offer you?
