My Pet Peeve of the Day (sure to cause some strife)

could you im agine teling you hubby aunt flow is in town - my husband would be like 'was she at the wedding'.

omg, i hate when people say 'take me to prom...' grrr. it is THE prom!!!! a friend of mine told me a story that had me roflmao!!! she was student teaching in london and it was a grammar lesson and a kid forgot to put a period at the end of his sentence. so she told him that he forgot somehting. he stared at her blankly and she said 'you forgot your period' and he and the rest of the class busted out laughing. so she is standing there wondering what she said. so one of the girls says to her 'miss, do you know what you just said?' and she's like yeah, why? and the kids are like 'do you know what that means? i don't think she knows what that means!!' and she says well, tell me. and sheepishly, one kid says it is what a woman gets every month. and she starts to laugh, but she says yeah, i know that, we have that too, but that is also what we put at the end of a sentence. and the kids are still busting on the floor at this point and so she says what do you call it? and the kid says 'it's called a full stop!' every time she told that story, i would die laughing!!!
i grew up calling the v-thing a hungarian term b/c we are hungarian. so it was 5th grade and we had that seperate the boys from the girls talk and the teacher asks us if we know the term of that 'thing' and i raise my hand cause i sooooo know the word, right, and she calls on someone else and they say 'vagina' and i'm like what??? wtf is that? and the teacher is like, yes, it is a vagina. and i go home and wonder what the hell have i been taught!!! for 10 years, i never heard the word vagina! damn, i was sheltered.
